Newbie Needs Help with Escort cosworth buying
Hello gents im new here and i figuired i better introduce myself and say hello.
Im in Vancouver Canada 25 years old and a Ford Nut. My Dad use to rally for ford back in the mid 70's in Canada with his old Capri, and Mk1 escort, cortina.....etc.
I have a 2004 Mustang Cobra with 537 RWHP, and one Merkur (Ford) XR4ti http://photobucket.com/albums/a255/666COS/
Now there is a Cosworth specialist in my city he is a Englishman and a nice guy. He has a Cosworth for sale and i want it and now i need to know a few things before i buy it.
The car is a motorsport LHD car from Italy. No rust, and has never been rallied. It has a rebuilt Grp. A engine. and its been polly bushed. i believe it is a 1994 car. No other mods. Cloth int, no accidents
My question is what should one of these sell for in Euros?
What should i be looking for when buying one of these cars?
Special considerations?
cheers guys

Yes the car is at Drakenent. Nigel is building it up. it use to be a road going car. it came here all stirpped which is kinda good cause it allows me see the shell up close.
its being put back together using the standard cloth interior, motorsport seats (not recaros), rebuilt Grp engine, standard used drive line. and fully repainted in red. there are no accidents on it.
its a used LHD Italian car.
so what should be the ball park in UK pounds for this car. im just looking for an estimate. also what should i be watching out for when buying one.

Hey dude, what's up.
Something like that should be like what the guys are saying.. anywhere between 6-12k pounds, In Euros? I don't know but just an FYI, the Euros not long ago where about $1.3 to 1 Euro. Now it's about $1.18.
So in US dollars gota figure between 10-20k US. I would ask what the "Group A" engine is, what does it have in it? why add a built up engine with a standard drive line (the MT75 isn't know to be strong).

diffrent market out there for them but 20k USD sounds a good price over there.
Yep nigel thats the chap used to speak to him quite a lot used to supply loads of cosworth parts to him untill are Company stop supply overseas
