1) The way its run by Admin? Spot on
2) Its current speed? No worries here
3) Its Content? What more could u want
4) Its Moderation? Well I never been modded

5) Its Lack of swear filter? Think the fact u can is good if u feel a need, but dont think it too bad anyway think used to see more on rsoc bb with the insertion of *** and wrongly spelt words which is testement to the peeps using the board

6) Any suggestions? Only small one is the "perk" given to members of being allowed to sell items, as a paid up member i wouldnt mind having the chance to buy somehing off someone who isnt a member, ie allow non members the right to sell

Dont get as much time to visit the site these days but will still be renewing my membership when time comes as still the best site around

top site in every way imo, mcpikie worrys me a bit with some of his posts though think the only prob seems to be the anonymity of people and timewasting arsoles that affect people but this is by far a minority of people , in fact stu id like to contribute to show my support, so dig your files out and get my credit card details from when i bought my turbo repair kit on the the 28th of june and take it off there

The site is by far the best and busiest ford only site ever!!

The only prob i find is 2many old posts, surely they shud b deleted if no1 posts on the subject for say a month or sumfin??

Also posts in 4sale areas, again wen reading old posts its unclear wether or not they r still up 4 sale!

*RUDEY*s idea on bidding 4 items on the forum is a very gud idea. As debated here: https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61958

1 fine, as long as we are kept updated of changes
2 fine now
3 this needs to be addressed i think, the amount of arguing needs to be deleted i think and banning for a week needs to be intoduced

4 same as 3 really less of the arguing, else content is fine
5 swaer filter as is, is fine

6, a FAO forum, as sometimes there are WAY to many in the main area

you said be honest, so i am

1. A1, speed-issues and whatever that problem was with the server not long after I first joined (hosted elsewhere, DNS re-direction taking a while, or something) dealt with nicely......everything else left to the moderators, as it should be.

2. As fast as a laxative-induced diarrhoea-sufferer, running to the nearest toilet - ie. bloody quick!

3. Decent amount of technical-talk, with a little bit of banter on the side......perfect mix.

4. Topics are left open for banter, but closed when things get out of hand......not really seen any major fights that weren't stamped down on quickly enough.

5. People swear, it's natural......although I'd tend to agree with the suggestion of making it a user-option to enable it just for themselves (if possible).

6. With 700+ pages in General Chat, I think suggesting going through and moving the decent technical stuff into an FAO forum would involve a reply with the words "where the sun don't shine" in it, so won't suggest that! But, the user-option mentioned in [5] to enable a swear-filter for themselves would be useful for those of us that browse from work.

1) The way its run by Admin? Excellent job Stu and Pet!
2) Its current speed? usually fast, but at times a little slow when I write?
3) Its Content?Funny, informative, and just everyday life it's Great!
4) Its Moderation? fine
5) Its Lack of swear filter? there's filter?? LOL
6) Any suggestions? Well... I just think sometimes people bring up topics that tend to be a little bit insensitive. I think that any Pictures of Any type of disasters whether it's horrific car crash, people getting their heads chopped off, building crashing down, shouldn't be allowed to be posted. And If a Stupid Person from another country does something so fucking stupid, don't assume that everyone in that country is that fucking stupid (Rhys was making fun of me yesterday cause he knows it winds me up when a Yank does something stupid, and it's posted as "Those" Stupid Yanks, and NOT "That" stupid Yank)
Ok that's it. I love this Forum!

I dont see the benefit in deleting old posts TBH. What are your thoughts folks?

I agree with the for sale posts and we can introduce an automated trimming policy to those forums. Its currently 1 mointh i believe so maybe we should shorten it to say, 2weeks?

andy_patrick04,
Oh just thought, all interesting old posts shud go into an archive forum so if NE1 s afta sum technical advice they cud look in there first 4 it??
We already have it mate
Admittedly its not as full as it should be but il try to address that one ASAP

the strut brace,

Many Many thanks Carl. Hope the turbo repair went smoothly

Ive watched some of these topics with interest and often shifted it straight to muppets. I dont like post locking and deletion unless its in the best interestsof the majority but i definately do see the problem Eric and will endeavour to be more vigilant in future. In the meantime, please feel free to PM me with full confidentiality and il give a post my upmost attention. That goes to everyone, as always.

Seems. the biggest item on the "Wish list" is a user selectable swear filter.... Il see what Pet can do but i dont "Think" its possible to be honest.....

Can't fault it to be honest. I think Everyone behind the scenes does a great job. There certainly isn't any 'over-moderation' and I don't think there has been many times when this has been needed because the relaxed atmosphere of the whole site doesn't generate the Us and Them seen on other boards.

Performance wise it's great and I can't rememeber the last time I couldn't get on here.

Keep up the good work

1) The way its run by Admin? no complaints, only mentioned things once, was changed within hours

2) Its current speed? currently mint

3) Its Content? always an interesting read on here, even if it is non car related lol

4) Its Moderation? no complaints at all, other than popeye's skin colour

5) Its Lack of swear filter? can be bad as some people (invc myself at times) are foul mouthed for no reason, its better now people HAVE to login to browse, at least this dont leave the general discussion wide open to users kids where content/language is an issue at times

6) Any suggestions? more technical stuff (love the proper techy neville essays), i always like to read such, understand it i may not but some gets through lol, i can understand why them that know dont post but its still my suggestion

personally ive always liked the way that pf actually listens to its members, i was getting used to the rsoc bbs so this came as quite a shock democracy and customer service is the way forward for any community/service provision so as long as that is maintained the rest will sort itself out as and when it happens

just one thing that reall narks me (not sure how easy it would be to sort)

picture size in posts

i run 1024x768 on my laptop and when someone posts one picture, massively bigger than this, it knackers up the text and it then makes the post very difficult to read due to having to scroll sideways each time i want to read a line of text.

other than that, its ALLLLLL GOOOODD!!!!!!

Stu as the techinical essay forum is some of the best of the knowledge wouldnt it be better to keep that open to everyone. So people dont feel they have to pay to access the knowledge that is on here.

As that is the firts step towards people saying that you havent paid you dont get any help.As thats part of the charm of Pf the openeness and the non snobberry of it.

Morning Less,
I personally disagree as all discussion starts off in the Technical Advice forum or general discussion forums, so are open for all to see initially...

As for Technical help, i cant see why anyone would think they dont get it if they dont pay because the "Technical help" forum is still free to all......
