could i exchange an ipod mini, boxed etc, w/o a reciept, if i went to a shop that sells them?

 

they may scan it to see if it came in their range of barcode.

Most won't now, might be worth contacting Apple directly about it

I didn't suggest this but know someone who has done it -

Gone into to a shop, bought an identical item that they were given as a gift which was faulty, then took back the one that didn't work (with reciept) and got a refund. (also swapped boxes just incase)

 

u cant generally get Mini's anymore - it's nano's now. Without proof of purchase, ur screwed even with apple - unless you know someone.

 

Poo doesn't sound good, I'd still contact Apple Customer Services just incase, they might do something, if the won't might be worth contacting trading standards and see if they will
