Has anyone fitted cossie calipers to a mk5/6 escort??
cos im gonna be soon,
will i need to drill out my hubs to 12mm??
but
i have heard conflicting things on fitting them.
like i thought you need a 5mm spacer between hub and caliper
someone else said 3mm
and, a kid i was talking to last night said when he done his he took to the calipers with an angle grinder and removed about 2mm so they sit closer....??
which one is correct, or none????
cheers people

Yes, done it on my old one!! Best thing to do is use washers to get the correct spacer distance spot on, measure them, then get some spacers machined on a lathe!! then again I didn't bother and just had three washers to space it out!! Still flying around on em now!! Only thing that may be a prob is if you have ABS, as mine didn't so I wouldn't know.

I used three washers, so around 3 - 4.5 mm I'd guess, but as I said best to measure it then get them made. Before you do it, just whip off the old caliper one night(don't take the brake hose off or anything) stick the cossie disc on then try bolting the caliper up with a 'number' of new washers. Won't take too long, then measure the 'number' of washers and there you go. stick your old caliper and disc back on and get the spacers made!! You don't need to drill the hub carrier if I remember correctly as that's for the ST170 conv.
