Default Bid-low auction site thing??????????????

I saw it in the paper today about an auction site that you can win things by bidding the lowest price

You have to pay £1.50 per bid but stand the chance of winning a £15,000 Mini Cooper for £1.72

Where is the catch

Anyone know the site??????????????????

No, it has to be a unique bid ie, £176 and if 2 people bid the same amount they both get cancelled

as far as i know, working from a site i've seen over here, it works like this:

the item starts with a starting price at some time. it then has an ending price some time later. between those times, the price decreases from the starting one towards the finishing one. for example something starts at $10 at 1200 and will finish at $0 at 2200, it will go down in price by $1 every hour. (sorry to use the $, my keyboard doesn't have the £ symbol ). actually the clock is running all the time so it goes down by a penny a minute or whatever.

basically, the longer you wait, the cheaper you can get the thing, but there's more of a chance of somebody else jumping in and taking it.

simple really. or maybe my explanation is shit and you still can't get it?

It's always done on music channels like "The Hits", never seen it on the net.

The idea is you text in a bid (premium rate text costing £1.50) and the lowest unique bid wins the lot. Obviously every man and his dog will bid 1p or £1 etc, but it is quite clever, because in line with the lottery rules, they don't have to draw the prize until a time they see fit, (i.e. when they have made enough dosh on it!)
