ACTUATER HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Anybody help?? Ive fitted a stage 1 chip to my car with a rs 500 actuater, it goes really really well but on the actuater its wound right in does this mean its running full boost as I don't know what boost it is as I don't have a boost gauge yet. Any help would be great!

Do yourself a real big favour and take the car to a pro before this ends in tears pal. Your chip should have come with full instructions on fuel pressures and CO levels, not to mention boost adjustmen, plug heat ranget and on load fuel content checking... Im guessing yours hasnt and your in teh dark?

Book it in with Stu@MSD - you will NOT regret it - he won't bullshit you about or tell you a pack of lies like some tuners will - Stu is straight down the middle and as honest as they come

Yes I agree perhaps taking to an expert tuner is the correct answer, but no one has actually answered the original question for us have a go tinkerers (come on if we didn't tinker and blow them up the tuners have less cars to rebuild! lol)
I always get this mixed up, I assumed the more wound in the actuator is (making it shorter and harder to get back on) the more it would run more boost (only ever done half a turn at a time)

Now take it to Stu and get a -31 and proper set up

Mate I'd have serious reservations about taking a chip that's been set up for another car and then putting it on my own.
It's not set up for your car and so it won't work within the correct parameters and as said, could result in considerable damage to your motor.

Most 'stage 1' chips/maps are off the shelf and so not adjusted in any way shape or form for an individual car! Providing it is what it is supposed to be then adding a -31 actuator and having everything checked should suffice.

Its incredible how many people rip off the greys and T34 and sell it as a "Never abused, standard cossie"
Pop your -31 on one of these babies and watch your pistons turn to chocolate around 11psi.

I know what your saying Stu but you yourself sell stage 1 chips as well as others 'off the shelf' which come with very simple instructions as to installing them! What i have said is true as most people that have a stage 1 cossie would have bought the chip and it wouldn't have been specifcly 'tailored' for that car. Obviously if the owner knows the spec of the car and it is 'standard' then there is very little danger installing a chip from a reputable source providing it is done properly and set-up in accordance with the instructions.
BTW Stu
I know exactly what your saying as the last Saff 2wd i bought was on yellows running a -31 and 'stage 1' chip of some flavour or other but had no boost gauge and when i checked it was peaking at 23 psi
Thankfully i never give a cossie abuse until i know its healthy and set-up properly and as it turned out this things head was indeed 'very' ported but had had more skims than it should have had and the valves had created their own cut-outs in the pistons

Your right of course, but even my own kits say in big red letters:
"YOU MUST GET THE FUELLING CHECKED BY A PRO BEFORE HARD USE"
Its simply foolish not to. Even if it is a std YB and you set it to 14, i see LOTS that are still deadly lean due to 15yr old fuel filters, fuel lines squashed by some tw@ from ATS or Krap Fit and fuel pumps that are only getting 7volts from the rotten wiring.....
Anyhow.. im sure people get the idea.......

ROFLOL..
A lot of Sierra Coss owners are shit scared to look 'underneath' just in case half their chasis has rotted away

What has happened there Stu
My post has gone and you have quoted me from that post as me lol
