Default Problems selecting reverse in the S1..

hello peeps (and less )

Whenever the S1 has been left to stand for a while, over night or when i get in it after parking at work, its a real bitch to get into reverse!!!

it'll go in but won't select properly...bring foot off clutch slightly,.....nothing....and then WHAM, it jolts into reverse....it SOMETIMES does it in first but not as much as reverse and it only EVER does it after leaving it for a while!!!

once its driving, etc there are no probs at all and you can select reverse all day long with no probs!!!

whats going on people!?!?!?!?! as it scares people when the thing jolts backwards!!!! PMSL

I suppose its a start if u cant scare em going forward?
On a similar note, one day my orion decided it never wanted to go into reverse again, it was as if the gear didnt exist!
Just hope it doesnt get to that stage

my old s2 used to be a bit like that, found if i let off the clutch and dipped it agen it would go in ok, without the force of banging it in and jolting back

a lot of old Fords do this Keith! lol

Whenever you want to select reverse, just put it in 1st before you select reverse, you'll find it's a lot easier.

Cant believe no one has advised you to do this already
