Whats the general nationwide opinion of Newcastle United, I mean now and back in the nineties, were we realy everyones second favourite team under Keegan or were we seen as the great pretenders,Im fucking sick of getting hyped up every season and then by December thinking oh well then lets bring on next August, I can imagine Liverpool fans are on the same lines but at least they win the fookin cups, so I just wanted to know what people outside of Newcastle thought of us and Alan Shearer

Apart from Man Utd Fans , I know he knocked you`s back but thats life

Newcastle Utd, disgraceful situation they are in the money theyve spent down the years.

Shearer - finished , amazing player is in day though, even i say that.

Sourness - get rid, your going nowhere under him

My dad and Bro are both mags, all i can say is great support being very short changed, same as Sunderland. Middlesboro however, theyre being short changed by the fans, they dont deserve Steve Gibson.

Totally agree about the money we spent, the managers have went from bad to worse since Keegan went, think of the money Arsenal have spent compared to us with a smaller ticket revenue and everything yet compare the success of the two clubs in the past 10 yrs.
Did you lot know we actually had first refusal on Dennis Bergkamp from Inter but management thought he was past it , He`s still doing the fucking business now for Arsenal

Dont get excited though, it was for a presentation for a long standing
employee even being a mackem i like kevin keegan, i love the way he got yous playing the season you ran man utd close. Me dad blames him for buying tino asprilla and unsettling the side but as i said at the time, hed be moaning if he didnt buy anyone and someone got injured.

People up here say that as well about Asprilla and Batty, what people dont say is that Batty got Man Of The Match 5 times towards the end of the season, so how the fook can he be blamed for us throwing that lead away, TBH Asprilla wasnt bad either. but I agree with you about how we played under Keegan, we were awesome, my brother is a pure diehard toon fan and he always has videos on of the nineties and you dont realise how good we were till you look back now,

typical keegan though, exciting forward play but never got the back end
right, hence the 4-3 liverpool defeats, arsenal got the defence right but
no where near as exciting to watch as the mags, but , won some silverware.

i mean i expect sunderland to be shite cos that wanker bob murray is a joke and the club have never invested in any decent players, got lucky with phillips for 350 k like but if i was a mag, id be absolutley raging at the outlay with no trophys. Unimpressed with owen as well, good player but i wonder if hed missed as many games as he has if hed got his move to the bin dippers

Only way forward for yous, is ditch sourness, may happen this week

well most the safc lads i know, knew wed go down before the season started. you can get by in the championship but you have to have some quality in the prem, and sunderland have none.

Sunderland peaked against us though and it still wasnt enough to even get a draw against a poor Newcastle team

first of all, being a Liverpool fan has been hugely frustrating for the past 10 years or more, but now under Rafa ( and actually under Houllier we won plenty ) we are now becoming a much better TEAM. i say that because apart from Carra, Gerrard, Alonso, we don't have what you'd call world class players, but what we do have is a hard working capable team. Rafa has made some very good signings, choosing to sign players instead of names. Newcastle on the other hand seem to be trying to get a quick fix with the odd star, sure it makes the fans happy but surely the money spent on Luque and Owen ( who i was massively disappointed he didn't come back ) would have been much better spent on replacing the awful boumsong and bramble.

what i will say is Newcastle have a very good squad on paper, and if the manager, whoever it will be, can shake them up and get them playing again then things will be brighter. But still are a country mile from being considered genuine challengers.

Nope Sunderland peaked against boro and did em 2-0 at the riverside,
Sunderland played ok against the mags but have played better this season
and still lost. They will pick up some points when they get some injured players back, Arca etc but will still go down.

i turn a blind eye to under achieving football teams as i'm a wolves fan.

i don't mind newcastle though, loyal fans, good support.

don't really hate any team, just the glory supporters that pop up whenever a team starts doing well.

its amazing how many chelsea fans have moved to wolverhampton.

yeah he knocked us back but at his age he'd be gone by now for new talent... not to put Shearer down though as he was a QUALITY striker!! TBH Newcastle seem to be one of those teams that you dont give alot of thought... they are always there... not much chance of them wining alot or being relegated....

why did newcastle sell woodgate, sure he has his injury problems but when he's fit he's one of the best centre backs about.

souness is a shit manager imo, got lucky with blackburn when they won the league cup andd i think thats prob what swayed newcastle into giving him the job. the only good thing he did was buying owen as he's the best possible replacement for shearer.

newcastle are a great team imo, great loyal fans who pack the ground no matter what the team are playing like. and a club renowned for wanting to play "sexy football". im really shocked theyve won nothing at all yet.
