Anyone Have or had a campervan?
Me and lindsay are thinking of getting a average camper...nowt special so we can tour england/scotland/wales without the need to book in at hotels etc...just do it at our leisure...
We do quite a bit of camping but if we are travelling about we dont wanna be having to set/take down tent all time
so have thought about one of these...
But i dont know what to go for...something around 5k.. Have looked at renaults, transits etc but not sure wether it may be an idea to buy a High top lwb transit and build my own
Anyone or just us two saddos?

How about a caravan? we have one stored away on a farm round the corner, used it many times but not once this year
The problem with camper vans is having to set up and then everytime you want to go off camp you have to unplug everything attached such as the awning, water main, electrics etc. it becomes a pain in the arse.

yeah me a few years back, i bought a merc camper van halfies with me ex gf, diesel job and was horrified how slow it was and much fuel it used,
it was a conversion job and was canny smart inside, if i was gonna get another id get the vw t25 thing. or is it t28

Thought about a caravan but im not sure about towing one up the highlands of scotland etc We generally dont drive anywhere from camp when we go tenting...would just take the bikes... 
Cat i think its the LT youre on about? Think reimo or someone coverted them

nah it wasnt a company conversion, just a home job.
made a few hundred , family that bought it were well chuffed. mind you they wouldnt have known how long it would take them to get home

I do alot of camping in the mountains...and for this i convert vans...always have done to get it how i want and alot cheaper!..my lastest is a transit hightop LWB 2.5Di P plate 70k when i bought it for 3k...got eletric mirrors/lumber seats etc etc .....Got central heating,DVD,colour TV cooker,sink,shitter etc etc...wicked fun...nowt like a fri/sat night on a mountain top living it big to Tim Westwood

Thats what im Thinkin Phil. Get a LWB high top transit and convert it. Father in law is an auto electrician so can sort that and im a good joiner etc so ill be able to fit it out fine. All sounds great mate till you mention Tim westwood
