Those figures that got posted about it beating a MC F1 to 200mph or something seemed fookin crazy, that thing was/is the Don and no one seems to know about this new supercar!

Go buy Decembers Evo mag then Dan, full road test and write up in there, most of it was designed and built in blighty 
Will do 60 sub 3 secs, 0-186 16secs, and is more like 1050bhp according to the bloke who designed it, they just state 1001ps because that's what they claimed when they announced they were making it a few years ago.

OK As many will ahve seen Im very very anti Veyron.
BUT regarding the figures. So far NOBODY thats not involved with the factory has validated these claims with a GPS system. A german car mag ran the car, but the figures weren't (for some reason or other) validated by an independent source.

If the supplied figures turn out to be true. And I'll admit Im a little sceptical then the F1 would be trounced in a 0-200 contest. But as Ive said before going fast in a straightline isn't what supercars are only about.

Yes I bought the magazine solely for that article and their ridiculous "Project 8 mins E36 M3 GT"
DSG gearbox makes for faster shifts of course. And would certainly help. But my issue is that the thing is far too heavy, and doesnt look anywhere near as aero efficient as a F1. Especially with that after thought of a rear wing.
F1's figures were done at the request of a customer, they never set out to make the fastest (though it was a nice bonus) They set out to make "the last real supercar with no driver aids" no ABS, no PAS, no Brake Servo etc etc
If Bugatti just set out to build the fastest production car ever, then thats just daft. What I'd much rather they'd done. Was look at current cars F1, Carrera Gt, Enzo, F40, Zonda and say we've seen what they are doing and are going to make a car that handles like the CGT, Is as fast as the F1, has the luggage space of a 5 Series and weighs the same as an Elise with Carbon brakes.
That would be the best car ever made so far.

Yeeah they are featuring it on Top Gear, think james may gets to drive it!! S'awesome looking car tho admittedly! 7-speed semi auto, 1001ps, 4 turbo V16, 250mph+, 0-60 3 secs << sure sounds like a beastie!

I love the Veryon, it is my fav supercar EVER.
Why?

Awesome car, its prob my fave supercar, that and the F40 and Porker GT1.
I dont usually like supercars at all really.
Err, you really think the box WILL last 10-20 years? Even with fast road use I doubt itd last 100k, At race pace, not a fucking prayer mate.
And i think you mean 320 too
If it can do 0-200 quicker than the Macca can do 100-200, the Macca can get well over 200mph at brunters, Id say youd be able to get to 250 on a LOT of roads mate. I can think of a few stretches of M-way in the UK that are straight for a long long time, never mind some american roads, etc etc etc

One thing about this car that made me chuckle was when i was doing some research and development stuff at work i had to visit a specialist electronics place who were working on the dash for the veyron.
On the clocks there are two large ones in the middle and a smaller one each side - one of the smaller ones reads from 0-1001 in what i remember to be 100 increments.
Apparently this is to show you the power you are making
