Default How do you sort out a laser on a PS2?

My PS2 has packed up and people have said get a laser lense thing off of egay for it and replace it....

erm... how

You have to take it apart and it's a nightmare.

Too many little screws, I'd take it somewhere and get them to fit it.

I lost me rag with mine and just went a bought a new one.

sorry to jump on your thread but seeing as its about PS2 Some of my backups [lay in black and white on my small bedroom LCD TV, but fine on a normal TV.. any reason why this would be?

does your lcd tv support ntsc format (60hz)?

and changing laser is not that hard just need a bit of patience!

i opened mine mate and just cleaned the lens and its fine but plenty of screws to play about with first

not too sure mate... its just a small LG jobby for the bedroom. How can I find out?

To get PS2 in colour with ntsc games on most tvs requires a rgb scart cable rather than the std one that comes with it, and make sure you put it in the rgb socket on tv, normally the blue one if more than one. They only cost about £3 at computer fairs
