mind and i know tis sounds arogant and all that but tbh i seriously WAS NOT in a safe state to drive looking back on it, i left the club at 330am and it was 8am when i got a tug AND i felt unwell

so i do worry about the acuracy of them machines but it tought me a lesson anyway

 

my point was ginge was earlier in the post you admitted you have drunk driven before (youve said this in the past on here too).

THEN you tried to justify it by saying it was just cause people lose their morals when they pissed up and if you was sober youd never do such a prickish thing.

But then you totally shot yourself in the foot by admitting the only reason you drink is to get drunk

And its an automatic 3 year ban for 2nd time caught, and 10 years for the thrid time.

If you blow over 100 (regardless of how many times you been caught before) you could risk prison

Highest I've ever seen was 171, and he drove into the back of a bright yellow bus

I physically could not drink enough to blow 171, and I doubt most on here could either!

steve i was talking off the past though

the first time i drove a car and was drunk i was totally fooked and i only went in the pub to collect some cash of my old man hence why i had the car

then i got a flavor for the beer and my morals changed and at one point i even drank a pint of baileys in a race with another person

theres been a few times ive done it and all the times i done it ive had NO INTENTION of doing it before


tell me you have never had a time when you didnt feel like going out and you did anyway then you never wanted to come home


i get like that ALL the time i have a drink and so i have to find ways to avoid it, its cause i drink too much to quick i guess and for that reason i can see another side

ive also commited criminal damage and got nicked a fair few times when ive been drunk, worst time was in lecister square when the old bill pushed my mate so i went to steam in to the copper, totaly thick thing to do and i never even got to the copper as another got me straight on the floor

my point is that drink affects judgement and as a result we need to find ways to avoid it as baning people is not solving the problem imo

im no hypocryte as i know im the worst person whos been very lucky but i know my faults now and i have never done it again

didnt have to tell me your life story about drinking, the driving bit woulve done.

we all do daft stuff when drunk, in the last couple of months or so ive cut my hand and had to have 5 stitches, knocked myself unconcious, and put a bottle round a mates head, never mind lesser stuff.

not drunk driven tho.

When your charged with drink driving there is a big table with the figures on. You get bethalised twice, and say if you blew 80, your next one must be between 76 and 84 or the machine is faulty (they not actual figures, I made them up). That table goes upto about 220, so somebody must of hit that before

 

and when you do fail,the test on the road they really rush you back to the cop shop for them tests

a WELL respected member on here had a close call and i mean close

 

There are loads of tricks to slow them down! Stick something in your mouth. Ask to read PACE (they have to let you read it, but not for too long!)

They always take your lower figure, and if that is under 40 (but over 35), you can opt for a blood test. The limit is 80 in blood.

 

i have had one done as a show piece thing on an army road show. me and me mate mitch went out on an all dayer on a sunday, went to work the next day and did the test, though in the morning mitch also downed a bottle of miller and a shot of whisky just to over emphisise it to the young lads, i had nothing but from the day b4. he passed the test and i failed it, so it all goes to show that it affects diffrent people in a diffrent way, i was actually done at 3 in the aft after a night sesh and was still 55mg, and at 9 that evening i was still blowing amber to get let out the cop shop to get married the next day

 

disagree Gareth, the next morning is what I am refering to,
no one knows at what point there blood alcohol limit drops to an acceptable limit to drive..
EG if mr X had 6 pints finishing at 11pm and drove at 11 am next day is he ok to drive? no one will know without a test. I friend of a friend did exactly that and was still over and got a years ban..
there are loads of factors to consider in how quick the body deals with the alcohol in the blood stream

i went to the pub on sat night to watch my mate do a gig, i had 4 pints of 6X at Ł2.40 a pop

missus was drinking coke as she didnt feel well, and was also driving..

Ł2.50 for fucking pint of coke!

now that takes the piss!

 

Does take the mick, I remember years back when I used to manage a busy puib, there was talk off regulating the price of soft drinks and / or making certain ones free....
