Default cam kit for rst!

Been thinking about getting a cam kit and i wanted to go with the newman cam with solid lifters!

called up rpm (race power motor sport?) and spoke to them!...they asked the speck and i told them then they asked why i didnt want a kent or piper...i answerd "been told there shit" got a giggle....then he tells me that with my engine mods a kent cvh35 is the sort of profile i need but kent have been getting returned mullard!!!!! then he tells me that he has helped develop a piper cam kit for the zvh called a T3 and he says he fitted one in a 1.6short block rst and said it had good results!

my question is!...what bloody cam kit do i go for im so bloody confused!

Get a decent cooler first mate, imo...

The same spec as you (Chip, Filter, Mongoose, stg2 turbo and GRS) I was running 220bhp on old standard cam.

Yeah, std old 120k mile bottom end lol. My cam was noise too so I eventually got a PE cam at a good price, but that went into the new engine.

I would say go for a Standard cam. If you want Torque, I used to run a CVH34 with similar spec level to you and the power delivery was pretty fierce.

The PE SX428t is the Kent CVH34 just different name..is identical in everyway, ahmed Bajoo helped in the design of that cam. I had one in my old rst and loved it, performed very well too down the 1/4

IMO piper 285t or the best option is to get a custom one made!
Karl can make them.. not a bad price either

Im running a Kent cvh36 in mine with stg3 hybrid, pace cooler, ported head with big valves group A springs and a M.D piggyback board chip with a standard bottom end and it is EXECELLENT.
All this work was done by keith at racepower and the car is quick,to get 201bhp @ 12psi he must be doing somthing right, but its reliable too the car has been ragged about for the past 18months (10,000k) without fault.
The 36 is a good cam it comes in quick and i lose lots of lag that i gained with the stg 3,if you want snappy, torquey power you want a 36 mate.

been told that the newman cam is wicked!...now been told the cvh36 is cool!

and im sorry but i dont think i can make it to karl and i dont wanna get paul hills to work on my car then fook off to karl for a cam then come back to paul for other things (karl is the other end of the country!!! A top guy but just too far!)...

and altho some of you might not think it the £260ish on a cam kit is to much to just waste!....

god damn im confused! ..........

Karl will make your cam from a blank (as far as i know) so i wouldnt of thought there is a problem in him mailing it to you as long as he has you engine spec then it can be made to suit.. give him a ring.. the price is very good
