i've had a 20gb ipod and now have a nano, can't say i've ever had a problem with them to b honest, some people swear by some of the other makes (iriver + iaudio) but it comes down to looks for me and the others are certainly heavier and not as nice to look at. i know the battery life on the newer ipods is better as it was a failing point before. itunes is ok, plenty of music can be found on the net for free if you know where to look though. itunes will not support .wma files though, which can be a pain if all your music is currently in that format.

hope that helps,

matt

ok cheers matt, i remember rhys having a thing for his ipod by belkin that uses fm radio waves to tune into your car radio ????

can i put whole albums on the ipod say for instance ministry of sound annual 2006 without any gaps between the tracks ?

if i put mp3 tracks on there do they stay as mp3 or does it have to convert them ?

so many questions

Got a Mini and a Nano - both work exactly the same, and they're brilliant. Get an ISkin for it though, protects it no end.

itunes will automatically convert your songs/albums for you. it will name them from an online database too, great bit of kit really, can make up playlists that get stored on your ipod too. you just plug your ipod in and it takes seconds to update with any new tracks ets.
mp3's are converted into another file type, can't remember what they are.
the thing rhys had is an itrip (or similar) they are not very expensive and do the job well. any more questions mate im happy to help

at last someone who agrees with me

why would anyone want an ipod? its beyond me! you have to convert the tunes into a stupid format using itunes. Whats wrong with another player that you can use mp3 with? Fair play if you have an apple computer but most of the world doesnt

Ive just bought myself a player so have been looking about. i was close to buying a creative zen sleek http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=13599
That one also has a radio which is cool too. Simple file format of mp3 or wma.

Instead i finally chose a sony walkman which personally i think pisses on the ipod and others. Its 20gb, smaller than the rest, lightest, has the best battery life and looks far better too!

You can store word files, excel, photos etc on it too

If you're looking to play your mp3 player on your car stereo then you can buy an fm transmitter from ebay for about Ł15 delivered. Just type in fm transmitter and you'll find them. Im gonna buy one that you can transmit on various frequencies and not just a limited 4 or 5.

down with the ipod

I've got a 6gb iriver and can't fault it. Radio, dictaphone, color screen etc. Far better value for money than the ipod and at the end of the day it sits in your bag or pocket whilst you're listening, so who see's it.
