Default misfire help on 200sx **SORTED** :D

well i changed the plugs, they were a bit fukked but misfire was still there, so started to fiddle with all the plug connectors

cyl 3 plug on the injector has the clip broke off, i messed about with it and pluged it back in and the misfire went

hey hey, so i take it for a spin and fook me, it flys!

well,, it did for 10 mins and started to mis again, so i pulled over and had a look, the plug is still connected and so i drove home and bent the pins in a bit to make a snug fit - still misfires.

doesnt get any worse when i unplug the injector, so im thinking its the injector shagged?

or can the coil packs fault intermitantly?

just about to go on sxoc for a look

TBH this will be the same be it SX, Cossie, anything really, so people with half a brain should be able to help.

IMO itd be a terrible fluke if cyl 3 coilpack is fucked too, as you know sorting the injector plug fixed it first time.

Gotta be the injector connection IMO

to see if its the coil pack, swap it with one from another cylinder, see if cyl 3 is still missing. the dropping resistor is sometimes the cause of it running on 3. thats a little silver box that sits on the airbox or inner wing if a induction kit has been fitted.

you could try cleaning the contacts on the injector.

if the injector is shagged, its a pain in the arse to swap them over.

cheers mate, well i started it this morning and it ran sweet as, went to halfrauds to get som oil - put 2.5 liters in lol

started it back up and it was missing again...

its NOT the injector, if i put the plug off with engine running you can hear it stops clicking, starts when you plug it back in etc...

gonna take coil packs off in a min a check them out like you said.

there is no induction kit on it t the mo, doesnt mean there wasnt one befroe tho.

cheers

i had the same problem a few years ago, because it was intermittant i convinced myself if must be a wiring problem. so after days of testing the loom and finding nothing wrong. fitted a second hand coil pack and it cured the missfire.

if you rear end yours i want some front end panels.

i wasn't using it properly, was at a stand still when it happened. turning right and didn't see the car coming as i had a van infront of me. a really gay way to ruin my pride and joy.

white one is mine also. that ended up like this.

i then got this one which i've got to fit my engine into and i'm selling it...

and i picked up the red one for £470 off ebay. it was mint no real rust, re-built engine with paperwork. it was totally standard when i got it. it was cheap because it was sold as a non runner because the starter motor was fucked. push started it outside his house and drove it all the way back from London to Cardiff no problems.

going to fix the red one. considering buying a chargespeed body kit for £800 that comes with a free pair of vented front wings. not 100% sure yet though.

gutted about it.
