there was a different finnis number for the early mk5 escort, this was super seeded, maybe the later finnis number comes with the shaped frame.

I'm buying a mk5 Escort RS2000 tailgate in the next couple of days.
Then I can perfectly match that to my own tailgate.

Will let you know what the differences are if there are any.

Well there is obviously a difference isnt there. I CAN confirm that there IS a difference, and those pics do too...

so...

there is a difference!

STD mk5 escorts didnt have the flat part. Those who have bought them must have got hold of delete option tailgates by either Mistake, or ford just selling them as a STD part as it dont make a difference if you are ASKING for a std one at the desk and they give you one with FLAT parts

Well when we looked into it a bit ago, it seemed that the flat part came about on std boots when the change over to mk6 occured...even tho the mk6 tailgate is different to the mk5 Even our old mk6 escort si had the flat parts for the bolts and that never came with a rear fin

I've got a RS2K one but it has a bit of rot in it.

Just checking if I like my car without the whale tail on it.
