Default Oil Temp Gauges...

i bought some autometer gauges for the centre vents, got boost, oil pressure and oil temp.

the prob is the oil temp gauge requires the sender to be drilled and tapped into the sump - which i presume will start leaking oil once the sump expands with the heat.

What you have all done to overcome this? I dont really want to change to another gauge like water temp as i have the secs monitor.

Any ideas,

Cheers

Ran

yeh but will hte sump plug fit as i had a look underneath and there aint enuf clearance for the adapter to fit in there let alone have room for the wires to plug onto it.

fook it - i might just put a clock in there that looks like a gauge

or you can buy those 4 way adapator that goes into the block, where the turbo feed comes from, you can but those but with an extra hole.

or as the little welsh man said, a sump plug with a build in sensor.

ryan, would it not interfere with the feed going to the turbo giving inconsistent pressure, etc.

If the job is done right it wont leak, besides where do you think it will expand to? If anything it will tighten up the threads i'd have thought

kev i was talking about the sump expanding with the heat and therefore not making a proper seal around the adapter.

I had mine welded into the sump and never had any problems with leakage , it was an Autometer version too

Also interested in that sump plug for the SPA sensor.
Any pics?

I think my sump plug is leaking once the car is warm. Doesn't leak when she's cold though.
