Fancy a new gadget and was looking at a PDA. Have not got a clue which one to get. Would like to use sat nav with it too ! Budget of around £200-£250.

mda compact/imate jam with 1.13 rom and 1.13 radio and bigstorage.
cant fault it apart from not having wifi, but can be added with an sd card but IMHO the best pda for price and size at the mo!

the best all rounder is the XDA2s
it has built in gprs, w/lan, phone, 128meg ram with flashcard socket for upto 16 gig memory (when cards become available),
has
400mhz processor - Intel PXA263
128Mb DDR RAM
32Mb Flash RAM
32Bit Databus
240x320 tft touchscreen display with 65k colours (16bit colour)
excellant bit of kit, and has a slideout keyboard too

I have read up on that and it looks sooooooo coool BUT after 10 years of faithful service to orange the last 18 months I had with them was diabolical and I have switched to O2. I have vowed never to go with them again. Just a damn shame thats only avaliable with orange !

I got an Acer N30 at the moment, very similar to the N35 Frogford linked, they have a slower processor, but for what I use it for (Satnav, MP3s, etc), that doesnt seem to affect anything. Bets thing by far about the Acers is they are thin, and they have USB host, so you can plug USB gps's into them, USB memory sticks, Digital cameras etc...
If I was buying a new one right now, I'd get an XDA 2s (black one), I think, they look very good
Also very impressed with my mates XDA Exec, screen is awesome, keyboard looks good, works well but a bit geeky for me .....the transcriber translation is MUCH improved over my PDA though (may be just the updated windows mobile)

I was offered one for free, but expensive tariff, 75 a month I think. You are best off looking online and then seeing if O2 will do anything to match it
