3 Cossies vs 13 Toyotas..... but who got 540 bhp....???
Just thought I'd post up some results from a Rolling Road day a few of us attended on Sunday at Interpro.
It was organised by Alex Knight of the Toyota GT4 Owners Club, and to make up numbers myself (AKA Si B), Phil ( AKA Phill2400) and Doug Stirling ( AKA Doug Stirling ) plus a guy in an Integrale, another in a BMW 325i and a friend in his UK Scoobie also showed up!!!
First up is Alex in his GT4, and he runs up 349bhp and 345 lb ft torque (IIRC).
Blimey, not a bad opener and there's another 12 of the buggers to go.
To cut a long story short after all the GT4's run Alex's car is the most powerful.
My friend in his W plate UK Scoob knocks up 244 bhp using just a panel filter and cat free exhaust. Very respectable and mega reliable.
Then up comes Phil in his rwd Stage 3 Saph (Normally seen blinding the crowds with his mega bling engine bay, or going side ways round Coombe) (Greens, T34 .48 etc) and runs out 351 bhp. Nice, first Ford done, and it's pipped the GT4s already.
Then my car, a Saph 4 x 4 (Stage 3+ ) 371 bhp, 359 lb ft torque. It even drove home on it's own!!! Did leave some of the rear prop shaft bush behind, but hey, I like weight saving!!!
Finally up comes Sir Doug of Stirling in his Es Cos. All the Toyota guys waited around to see this rumoured Stage 1+ car run.
540bhp, 420 lb ft torque at 28 psi
(and it's capable of running up to 34 psi iirc on the road)
Just to make it clear, I'm not having a dig at Toyotas here, but I am going to big up the Cossies!!
Big thank you to Alex and the GT4 Owners Club for making us welcome.
Cheers
Simon

Interpro dyno graph - sorry about the quality BUT Interpro really need to get hold of a good up-to-date printer, the one they use is like the type only available in the late 70's
Notes:
Boost is capped to 24 - 28 PSI up to 6,500 RPM...This is to prevent the surge that only MAD engines dont suffer........Maybe Mark will tell us some of his secret specs one day .....
I told Dave Griffiths (RR opperator) that he must rev the engine past 6,500 and right up to the 7,800 RPM soft cut limiter with at least 80% throtle, otherwise the the mapped in 32 PSI high boost would not kick in..........He "thought" I said "rev it to 6,800"

It is sad when you are limited on boost because the engine Spec aint optimum. I see it shows in the Torque which should be over 500FT-LB if all was well.
I think myself & Ade must get on a RR & then all will be revealed.
This is not a knock cos the Power is good but im also sure Mark aint going to tell, mind you i know where a certain guys Specs fall down & all i will say is Lateral thinking.
