Whittingham Hospital off Whittingham lane near Goosnargh! The church is a listed building. The other buildings, although old and victorian are NOT listed which means they may be demolished if the land gets sold off for redevelopment. The train station was demolished in the 1960 I think. The cricket club still play on there though.

I used to live in Epsom as a lad and remember there being 4 or 5 Mental hospitals there at the time. Trips to the shopping centre could be interesting with so many of the hospitals residents wandering around (remember i was a kid at the time ) Very interesting pictures

What an awesome link! Thanks!

Used to hang out in the underground tunnel network of my local mental institute in Basingstoke. That was until we stumbled accross a warehouse of hydrochloric acid and one of my mates asked the teacher what it would be used for. We think it was used to disolve bodies as there were hundreds of drums of it.

Following that episode, a word from the police about trespassing and a clip round the ear from our parents, they promptly locked all hatches.

It is now gradually being demolished to make way for shite quality pre fab homes.

Danny, do you also know about the under ground bunker around that area too? And Chingle Hall just off Whittingham lane (apparently one of the most haunted houses in England or something stupid like that)?

know chingle hall daz but been too commercialised to want to take a look,no nought about the bunker though, Just was cool as fook in pitch black with around 6 of us scalling security fencing etc and hiding in long grass from security.

Went a few times funniest being we pulled up at pub round corner, thing was word had got round and 15 cars in car park dont go amiss and within mins police arrived with cctv, All moved on and went towards beaccy to put em off scent then went back dropping cars off around village. All trecked up lane and over gate to main road and set off into the complex when next minute "Shit car headlights" all scarper for cover just as car comes round corner, Could only have been security as all locked up,Everyone seemed to think they were commados as went unspotted but 30 or so ppl trying to hide behind a tree isnt hard to spot,Think it was a case of the security guard thinking Flock tacklin 30 of the flockers Shame it got so popular cause ppl started smashing windows and being the clever cunts which wasnt why we were there really, neadless to say it ended with razor wire everywhere and i couldnt be arsed getting caught as i think they would take matters futher. went once more with an ex squaddie so again access was easy but never checked out whole site

Somewhere along Whittingham lane is an underground bunker. I believe it was going to be put up for sale as it's been unused since around 1992...

Have a read...

The place they mention in the above link is the main place built originally for WW2 from the old quarry, supposedly seperate from CCC, but unsure if it actually is.

They got a number of innacuracys in that link, not least the tunnel thing, it isnt a line that branches off inside the tunnel (box tunnel), its came off just before and entered the tunnel thats not blocked off right next to it, Quarry Tunnel, which leads into the underground base.
Ive even got pictures of trains coming in and out of it, with a policeman on gaurd outside.

From what ive been told (by good sources not one of these internet conspiracy wierdos ) is the proper CCC ive been in is actualy just Nuclear Submarine tracking centre. Tho the person may well have said that to hide its real use, im unsure.
Either way, it seemed far more modern (and all very new looking, and well kept) than the stuff you see plastered all over the net.
Still not seen the enterence I went in on the net either, tho many others are on pics on the net. Its similar, but much more secure door etc.
