My mates on BT and said they told him they are dropping the price.
I had heard they were going to cap the download limit so I told him that although its going to be cheaper, is it still unlimited - he said yeah down to about £24 and unlimited - the £18 package is the capped one
I'm with Central Point (Telefonica) 1Mb - Unlimited : £25.99 PM
No webspace or pop3 mailbox but i don't need it. You get a static IP address too - Which may not be good if you get banned from things
I've had no trouble apart from 1 slight hiccup which got sorted - Customer Service is very good.
Flat out downloads of 124k - Minimum contract is 3 months, so you ain't tied in for a year like others. They need a months notice though.
Connection fee is £29.37. They are doing migration for 99p at the mo too.

Hope that helps

Force9 - www.f9.co.uk (same as Plusnet AFAIK) £29.99 unlimited bandwidth, progressively less if you can deal with some limited bandwidth

BT Broadband is going to be capped from next year. 512k/15GB and 1MB/30GB effective 1.1.05
BT Broadband Basic is capped to 1GB/Month effective now.
Called them last week to upgrade from the basic to the 512k/15GB and they informed me of this then.

Only places you can get 400kbps upstream are where Bulldog have thier own equipment in the exchange and have unbundled the local loop (they don't have to use BT's copper wire phone system)
Problem is its London Exchanges only.
Bonus for anyone in London (west end etc) you can get upto a 10mb connection - Now thats some serious porn downloading.....

Try www.zen.co.uk or as already mentioned www.nildram.co.uk both very good ISP's. You can shop around and get cheaper but most have put into place very low download limits (which defeates the whole point of having a fast connection in the first place IMO), or you find that the contention ratio is very high and throttling systems are in place where you only get quick speeds at fixed times.
I'm afraid the UK is years away from getting good a broaband setup while compaines are still allowed to set broadband activation limits it is not going to get much better .
