whats better 99 ron super unleaded or optimax as all i ever here is optimax is very good .

Depends if the MON on the Tescos is as good as on the Optimax. I believe Fifth gear will be carrying out tests in the next programme.

On a serious note - i always use optimax but the cars been mapped on esso super & it runs sweet on it

Tesco's 99RON has a MON rating of 87, Mike.....isn't that the same as Optimax?

My mate says his EVO loved Tesco's stuff

Shell guarantee a MINIMUM of 98 / 86, but it is "typically" 98.6 / 87.5 according to their data sheet .

I always found Optimax too be very good better than BP

As Mike say it's the MON thats more important.

RON is just an indication of knock resistance at light throttle.

MON tests are carried out at higher temperatures and higher RPM.

I didn't think a MON of 87 was particulary good for a 99RON fuel personally.

Can't remember what the MON of Optimax or ESSO SUL was though.

Not that it bothers me anymore, bike will run on anything
