Buffy,
Would take 1.5 - 2hrs on a good day..
But.. The M25 between jct 10 and 12 is usually pretty bad in the peak rush.. So oculd take longer.
Or if you head the other way round ( counter-clockwise) then you'll hit the traffic all round the M25.

Buffy, its not the distance really, its what sort of traffic you'll be going through to get to and from work....
Can just add hours to your working day which means your personal life suffers...
But then again.... if its a good job that you are going to really enjoy then go for it.
I've always travelled for my work, used to go from Bedford to Oxford every day... it was about 130 mile round trip each day but the traffic was usually light.
What you've also got to think about is cost of travelling, Petrol aint really getting much cheaper....

tbh i dont find the M25 to bad going from Middlesex to Essex at the busy times. I cant really comment on the way up in the morning as ive never done it at that time, but usual time of hillingdon hospital to Southend for me is 45mins-1hr

Thats a fair way and will you be using the cossie? Think of the money you will lose on fuel and extra maintiance too. Though if its a good job it might be worth the sacrafice for a while then you can apply for a similar job close to home?

When I worked in Sutton, I used to leave at about 6.30am every day (except fridays) and I used to get to work at 8. Clackett lane is always rammo, from your side, dartfod crossing is always rammo, 4 - 5 is rammo, clackets - godstone is rammo, then, you've got the silly speed restrictions in place near heathrow

I get up at 5am each morning Catch the 5:40 Virgin train From Birmingham International to Londomn
Walk to Euston Sq, tube - Barbican
Walk to St Pauls
Get to the ofice abt 7:20
Leave abt 4:45 to catch the train home at 17:10 pulls in to Brum abt 18:30
Home by 18:45
Its just something you get used to doing really BUT you must ENJOY the job & it has to pay well
It depends on the hours etc
Sometimes we have partners meetings in the evening which means i dont get home until 9pm.
Its better using the train as is more relaxing & can sleep if necessary But is a pain when it runs late or is cancelled
It affords my lifstyle

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I drive to and from work every day.
It's a 60 mile round trip and normally takes me 45 minutes each way, sometimes longer depending on the traffic.
Anything more than an hour's travelling is too much in my opinion, especially if you're driving, by train it's not so bad.

dartford is always rammed during rush hours, morning and evening.. i wouldnt go that far for a job
used to do essex to heathrow everyday for 2yrs and took me a good 2hrs of stop start traffic and its wank, then changed office to driving to crawley way and that was the same
at least it was a company car with petrol paid otherwise it would have killed me cost wise..
now i work in london, get the train about 8.30 and in work for about 9.15-9.30 ish as no one seems to care what time i get in anymore

I travel from Dunstable to central london every day 35miles there 35back, actually not a lot of miles but it takes me 1hr 30mins pretty much in normal traffic and sometimes over 2hrs in bad, last wed it took me 2hrs 40mins to get home. Compare that to some mornings when i leave at 5:45am it takes 45mins to get in
its a pain cos it takes it toll on any car, which does influence what i buy.
