Probably a happy medium there Chip, if it's the 1.4, not sure how much it would cost insurance wise though as for a 1.4 it's still a 105bhp car, more than a lot of other 1.4's

The Honda Jazz I'm training in is a 1.4 and it's flat as a pancake lol

As far as I can see with the Fiesta TDCi, checking out Fords figures it has a lot going for it for use as a learner car.

That what he wants though surely?

Bunch of kids obsessed with cars, who are prepared to spend every penny of their disposable income (which is high cause they live with their mum) on learning to drive, and cause they are such racer wannabees they will all fail their test ten times and keep coming back.

Driving instrcutors dream surely?
i guess - but i'd be worried about them being reckless and crashing the car. insurance may cover such occasions but it means the car will be off the road and not earning. also if the above happens then AJ will have a low pass rate leading to youngsters taking their business elsewhere!

that would be my take on it anyway.

Thanks for the input people

I can get the MG ZR insured fully comp, to teach anyone age 16 & over, & anyone can drive even with a full licence with my permision for Ł517 with a Ł150 excess.

Tha also includes a cover car with dual controls which i get within 24 hours should my car be off the road due to an accident, fire etc etc.

What do you reckon?
Are the MG's reliable?
Fiesta TDCi with ST stripes???

what about something like the Tigra convertibles?

my old man taught people to drive at one point in a Mk5 Escort Cabriolet (when they were new). that got him alot of business. he'd have a bobble hat on in the winter with the roof down because the learners wanted it down.
