brakes caliper siezed on! help!

Default brakes caliper siezed on! help!

car 89 xr4x4 with abs

drivers front caliper keeps sticking,, seems to stick on about /2 mins after driving and dont release until the engines off for a few mins?

Just got home so about to jack the car up get the wheel off and have a look, tho its about 400degres anywhere near it

any ideas people?

Prob the best thing to do would be to take it off have a look see... Visible signs of corrosion around it etc... to see if its seized..

its the seal that pushes the piston back in so check this it could be fooked

Don't overlook the front brake hoses as well - when they get old they can collapse internally and act as very effective one way valves ( ie. keep fluid pressure up to caliper even after you have taken foot off pedal ).
Had it with a BMW which was a bit older than your Sierra - just something to be aware of if you're renewing your brakes.

If the hoses have already been replaced, then ignore this post
