Will post a pic of my board in 30-45min, not that it matters but would be nice to be able to change the start up message to something more personal than Mountune. (in case of theft)

Just got myself a Pectel Monitor at last
What can you guys tell me about it
Was told the monitor came out of a WRC car and the button on the side was a reset button? The yellow lead is a turbo temp monitor and there is a four pin lead aswell which i have no idea on? The Eprom has DOM 6.52 ES mean anything to anyone?
I take it the two red lights are temp and volt warning lights but whats the little green light next to the no.7?

The button on the side is RECORD if you press it the green light will come on. The four way connector is probably containing, 5Volt, oil pressure signal , fuel pressure signal and analogue gnd, It looks like these were added later. Have you powered it up yet??? Also can I ask what you paid for it? PM me if you want

Paul,
If it was out of a WRC car, then it will have been configured for T6, so will need changing for you P8.
I have just bought T6 for my car and so I will have to pay for my Pectel monitor to be converted to T6.
Alternatively, we could do a cash adjustment your way (as yours is a later version) and you have my one?

Hi, it won't need adjusting for P8. They came ready for both, its pins 3 and 5 for P8 and pins 11 and 13 for T6. however you will need a pectel board in the ECU to talkto the monitor. Full details available

also on L8 it is possible to have the pectel datastream disabled in software although it's usually set ON, not sure with the IEMS P8, although i would expect it to be available and usually set ON, most tuners switch it on for mapping and later fault finding whern you take the car back, even if no monitor is fitted

Well the loom and monitor are being mated up so we'll soon find out
Also from what Stu was saying I think the fact that Ahmed/Harvey fitted the Pectel board I'll be ok.. I remember Ahmed showing me his pectel mapping monitor with three dials on the front

Okey dokey got the loom back from Ryan with the correct plug
Ryan was also kind enough to tell me the little four pin pink wired loom is +12, GND, oil pressure and fuel pressure.. where can I get the sensors for these or is it a mission
Anyway powered it up today and it seems it was a Dome monitor originally, I think I'll get that Eprom off to you stu for the name change

Also I was thinking if the little four pin loom was oil pressure and fuel pressure are the two little blue pots in this pic so you can adjust a sensor to work with them?

Ok was given the monitor mod diagram and with a multi meter I've double checked my P8 has the monitor mod..
I've three chains of thought whys its not working
1. Wiring isn't right.. but i'm pretty sure it is I will double check this
2. Kelv seems to think that the Monitor has possibly been configured from factory to L8 and not P8.. if this is the case I'm not sure how to get around this
3. I'm wondering if its an Immobilizer problem.. my car has a Clifford Concept 300 and the standard Ford Wipac immobilizer. To get the monitor to work, the Clifford is unalarmed/valet mode and I have to plug the wipac key in until it beeps and then turn the ignition two positions.. The monitor won't turn on unless I plug the Wipac in.. the thing is the Wipac now makes a long beep followed by 7 short beeps when the ignition is truned two positions.. which it has never done before so I'm wondering if the Wipac is turning the ECU off or something silly but if that was the case then surely it won't turn on at all?
OMG what a head ache

they cant be configured to work with both the L8 and P8, if its been configured to work with a weber ecu it will be either one or the other.
..... or if it was genuinly from a rally car then it will be configured to run with a T6.
Just trying to source a L8 ecu so we can eliminate or prove that posibility - sold mine to SiB a little while back
