If you have that kinda money fella, spent it on getting into something you've all ways wanted to do while you have the oppertunity.
If it were me, i go into a trade. Sparkie, Chippy, Plumber etc.... People will always need these things and where ever you end up in life you can always get some work.
I've always wanted to be a sparkie since leaving school, one day i'll train in it and be doing something i ACTUALLY want to do.
The thing you have to ask yourself is, what do I really want to do?
Good luck tho.

I've been thinking this for a while because I have that sort of money sitting around I am reluctant to buy an expensive car and cant afford a house on my own at the mo so its just sitting there.
Idea I had was to buy a van/big estate for upto about 4k- loads of tools, gardening equipement, chain saw, mowers etc etc etc with the remaining money I am sure I can get a decent array of equipment and quality stuff to do what I want.
Print up a load of cards/flyers spend time putting em up and putting through letter boxes basically offering gardening services/painting decorating and odd jobs that sort of stuff.
This is obviously dead money.
While I am waiting for work to take off I can stay with my current job but just go part time to tick over and pay the bills 2 or 3 days a week.
I reckon if I work at it for 6-10 months it could become good enough to become fulltime.
The down side is it not taking off BUT as I own all my equipment and it will have hardly been used I can sell it on and recoupe some of the money I reckon if I lost 30% of my out lay over 10 months it would be acceptable in the sense that at least I've tried as I dont actually want to work for anyone else but fuck me would I work hard to make it take off.
The only probs I have is pricing- I dunno what to charge as for stepping on people toes its not like I am pitching up near someone and also there is no one like that round here.
Also I need to grow some balls to go out and do it.
Ebay is good but you have to watch out as I know a couple of people who do this and the inland revenue have looked at them.
What dya reckon?

ok lets think about this!
Its essex full of chav's that want body work done and body kits fitted so i'd say get a nice work shop with Stu and you can do the body work, stu can paint and i can show a bit of cleavage and sell them a stereo while they are waiting!
Perfect!

The weather doesn't bother me in the slightest - since very young I have always been an out doors person and besides- its what coats are for.

Just my opinion though
its start of senior manager money at my place and expect at most similar places.
if you turn over 90k to make 46k then thats sure not a bad deal profit wise... how many business yield 50%??
I could make the tea as a silent partner could scrape together 15k to put in
I really think selling things is where its at.
with just 10k to put in youre going to have to work your knackers off to get it back out again... and then continue serious graft to pay the bills and get a good turn around..
do the maths...
1 guy... average price of a respray? Ł1000 start off? how many resprays could you do in a week?
damage and repairing cars? whilst renting a unit?
get none structual damaged cars... rear quarters etc. and get them back out on the street.
I struggle to see how you can get the cash in on a small body shop to make it worth while??

I know what you're saying BUT when I bumped my S2 last year I went round at least 10 body shops from small to large and none of them could fit me in within a resonable time as they were just TOO busy.

deffo a burger van mate !!!!!
just look at all the big companys like jd sports/halfords, all the shitty types of business parks and then see how to rent aplot of land, convert a old storage container ( as there very secure and heavy to take) and use it as a fixed site
halfords at chingford on that estate there was a burger van there, health and saftey closed her down though and took ages to replace it, all we got was the part time mobile ones who charged a fortune
what ya wanna do is make it cheap and affordable, prices that people wuld pay just cause its a deal like 160 for a cheese baggette, 50p for tea and 60 for coffee ect
ive been thinking about doing it tbh but then i went to my old shop and they have now got a van back on there
biggest thing ive found is the prices put people off meaning you actually loose money
with mcdonalds/kfc ect charging soo much for food a 2 quid burger or 185 sausage in a french stick would be a good deal
and only charge 50p for a can of drink, paying more always puts me off
a way to prove my theory too
at work the coffee was 20p a cup, the people who suply the machine decided to increase the price to 30p per cup
we all go to the cafe and pay 60p now as the coffee aint that nice in the machine anyway but at 20p it was handy

another one is redoing aircon on cars and in the home, aircon is used soo much these days and so its a growing business, that and also do key cutting/coding for all makes of cars, another good line as we charge 105.75 to code a key at workm thats not including the central locking or the price of cutting the key,,,,,, or even the blank ley its self
cutting a mondeo/focus key takes about 1 hour in total ( and thats between 2 deparments so can be alot quicker) and we get on average a total payment of 150 to 170 quid
you can buy the software too and will allow for bmw's ect too
