The only problem with me is i have been a panel beater since i left school (7) years ago.
So i am not too sure if i would be much good at alot else
Plus i would love to be able to do custom cars and just play about with modded cars all day lol

Burger van is a good idea.
It would involve alot of unsociable hours but you could always save it for big events such as car shows.
For instance I went to Donny South last year and how long was the god damn queue to get served
I just went hungry in the end.
I would say that using it at big events would be the one as you have guaranteed customers then and know you're going to make a killing instead of being in some layby waiting for customers

The trouble with big events is that alot of the venues will take a big cut of the profits made from the catering vans.
I reckon Brands Hatch makes more money from the catering on race weekends than it does on ticket entry - which is why there are so many of them around charging over 3 quid for a hamburger!
There's definitely money in it if you can get a spot with lots of punters and no/minimal charge for selling there.

Fair enough they can give you alot of work but i don't think for a small place that insurance work is the ideal thing to do.

I bought a burger van a few years back, it would've worked out a really good earner but as someone said above finding a plot of land to pitch on regularly is foooookin difficult - all of the industrial areas/retail parks require pitching fee's which arent cheap etc etc. Then you've got to think that around our way Pikeys run the burger van show so you'd get hassle if you step on someones foot / are a newbie to the game. I ended up selling it back to the guy i bought it from.
Dal, start a bodyshop up, the amount of work around our way is unreal, very few companies do full resprays etc and the ones that are charge a premoium rate. Jump on that bandwagon to begin until your establised and are able to choose your work. You could also offer welding/seam welding/crash repairs etc... Its something your all good at and there is sooo much word of mouth advertising to be had you'd be fine . I'm sure there are some smaller units near me as well which would be perfect!!!
