I have always understood, that the #1 problem with std springs was not the poundage, but the bottoming out. Many aftermarket springs are therefore made of thinner wire and have actually less poundage.
Having said that, all clever people have always suggested double springs (from pumaracing?) for serious CVH engines.

Anyone else got any opinions on this?

PassionFord Post Whore!!
valve bounce is all caused by resonant frequencies and all sorts, not just poundage. the design of the spring can make a difference.
double springs is the ebst option mate, the two springs have different resonant frequencies, so when one is trying to cause the valve to bounce, the other is keeping it closed....basiclly
