Car has just gone on a crash diet!!
But it's not a FORD!
My 2003 Spec C Scoob has just gone been through this.....
In preperation for this at some point.....
So not only has the normal luxurys gone, but when the cage goes in it will loose a shedload of it's value AND I will of lost out on some of my weight advantage. Which will require more money in the shape of carbon fibre panels!! It's never ending.
I must be mad..... but the end result will be worth it!
It feels quicker at the moment and certainly sounds the bollocks in the cabin now though..... got to be worth an extra 100bhp! roflol

It's got a long journey to go yet Joe...... but it may get there before I reach 65! lol
I'll have to take you out for a spin in it when i'm over Leamington in it again..... you'll have to bring some ear defenders though, and it's only a paltry 370bhp at the moment, so your have to forgive the slowness, but then the 396lbft might bring some tears to your eyes!

Smit,
I know.... but I couldnt be arsed to fill it up with juice and take it to the weigh bridge before stripping it.
But I did weigh it afterwards - doh!!!
Standard Spec C is 1350 dry (some 120kg's lighter than a normal STi), and mine weighed in at 1340kg's after the strip, but with over 40litres of fuel and a full intercooler spray tank (seen in boot) which is a further weight. I was pretty pleased at that, considering it has bigger 18" rims, AP 6 pots, fluids and the heavier STi spoiler on it also.
Looking to get in to the 12's though (dry)..... should be possible with a bit of carbon, no boot spoiler, lightweight wheels etc.

Smit,
The newage ones are *fairly* heavy and certainly heavier than the classic shaped ones.
For comparison, the Escort Cossie is 1300kg (and that was heavy in it's day).
Rich,
I'll have you know the car has done 5k since April this year!!! Of course 4500k of those miles have been on a rolling road!

Safety first shaun
Look what can happen - andy's car on the strip
Imagine if rod's car had crashed @ 200 in the rain with no safety gear in it what so ever, doubt the driver at the time would be alive.
Top stuff for doing it the right way
