Default Problem!!



The bolt has sheared flush, i drilled out a hole in the middle then used an easy out but the easy out snapped in there (shit pic i know!!) anyone got any ideas on how to get it out?

pillar drill, and a fooking hard bit to go in it. Had the same problem with mine. You could also try to drill small holes all around the outside and get it out that way. Must say, looks VERY familiar and its VERY frustrating

Milling machine with a solid carbide end mill will machine the stud out without any problems. You could use a pillar drill but you'll need to use split collets with the end mill as a jacobs chuck will not grip the end mill's shaft correctly.

Either that or, I would personally try the easiest thing first: Weld a washer to the stud then weld a nut on top of the washer, then use the nut to try and undo the remains of the bolt

Famous last words but it should be pretty quick and easy job

These are titanium bolts !! thats why theyre so expensive , unless someone has fitted a std bolt and thats why its snapped ??

easi outs may be easier to shatter. use a centre punch and hammer good luck!

Take it to see foreman in machine shop and ask him very nicely to put it onto the spark eroder If you get really stuck steve give me a shout and i'll see what i can do for ya. how you keeping anyway, see you go past me a week or so ago on the A130 about 6.45am towards bas. car looked and sounded sweet

the ford ones are CRAP imo, i think i broke 3 out of 4 when removing them.
