cossie won't start

Default cossie won't start

my car has not been started in a wile about 6/7 weeks the ecu has been off the car in that amount of time , i've gone to start it today with a battery with a decent amount of charge in it and the car will turn over but not fire up ??? not sure if there is damp in the dizzy ? as i did not have enough time to check, would there be any problems with the ecu as it's not been connected in that amount of time ??? any sugestions and help welcomed thanks paul

try threatening it with a hammer, or putting a few 'F's into it. usually works for me!

Having the ecu disconnected from power for long periods will NOT damage it or cause it to lose its memory.

Have you reconnected it properly ?

Ginge stop ruining the guys post!


As Said above having the ECU disconnected for a period of time wouldnt cause any problems. Make sure its connected 100% and hasnt come unpluged while fixing it back in the car.

If thats ok, it going to be a matter or tracking down parts see whats working, like making sure u got spark and fuel etc.

lol @ ginge you gotta try aint ya , it was the ecu fogeting that was worring me , when i get a chance to get back to the car i will check for spark and that i connected the ecu correctly

i'll try cleanind out the dizzy when i get to my parents house where the car is stored , it just seems to be one thing or the other with this car still love the cossie though

Is the fuel pump running? Check the cut-out switch in the boot if not!
