Default Nova 2.0 16v's (now with pics of project chav)

Whats peoples views on these, as i am going to go look at 1 tomorrow. I remember the car from years ago red and had massive wide arches with 16" venoms, was done proper and look well smart back in the day. Its going for £1100 notes. My plan was to trackday it and have some fun, anyone got any experiences with them.

Ask Chip. Personally I reckon they are the bollocks. Small light and powerfull. Excellent fun and people don't see it coming as it's a Nova

I must say i am actually proud of the fact i never got a nova as a first car and opted for an ax gt instead. I am finding it hard to get my head around the fact i will be going from a stage 3 saph cossie to a £1000 vauxhall nova
That said i bet i would probably have more fun driving about in a shitbox nova with 150bup bups

I think all Nova's are shed's, they should of all been torched. There was a q plate 2ltr gsi 16valve turbo that was a rocket, but the chassis weren't the best in the world

It need's to of been done properly, IMO £1100 is a bit cheap for what it sounds like it is, so there might be a very good reason for it to be going for that price.

I am hoping it is still an sr on the log book, but cortney done the full conversion with full engineers report and receipts etc. The car used to be
well smart(the car everyone wanted at 17 ) My mate seen it a few months back and said it still looks well. I guess i will have to wait till tomorrow at 7 to find out if its a shed or not, or does the badge already give that away

I know it sounds wank but honestly its been done properly, must have cost a fortune. With a set of white wide as fook compo mo's on there it would look me bollox. It looks like a mini lancia delta tbh

Courtenay charged £5800 for a conversion back in the day, anyone who paid that was mentally instable. Can be done for less than £500 now, although to be safe you need decent brakes/suspension. Dont bother with the turbo if you want it for the track, its too much power for the front wheels, will spin up in 3rd in the dry so wont help much on the track.

I've some wank tyres on mine at the moment (changing them tommorow) and in the dry it spins in 4th if you floor it fully on boost.

In the wet it will do it at 100+ in sixth

I really need an LSD

Just started this conversion. Can be done for under £500.00 easily.

Pound for pound they arent a bad conversion performance wise.

My XE is going in this - Sleeper tastic.

Will be running GTE brakes,Koni's etc.

I am breaking a complete G reg Ashtray GTE 16 valve if anybody need anything?

The strut tops rot away on them and collapse the struts on normal novas dont they So on a valver its going to be under a little more stress i suppose. The work was carried out by cortneysport so SHOULD be done properly

Blimey, these go back... i had one of these as a feature car almost 10 years ago.

Mine went from a 1.3, to a 1.8 on twin 40's, to a 1.8 injected on NOS, to a 2L 16v on NOS.

they are good fun indeed, but after the 2 years abuse i put mine throu mine started to show kink marks around the back of the sunroof, id repeatedly snapped driveshafts and cv joints.

but in comparism to a cossie, they are very cheap to keep on the road, are brilliant fun, and well worth the money

these are absolutely fantastic, i used to hate them with a passion when i was younger, but they've grown on me big time! there's someone on here (jonnybravo?) that has a xe nova, he ran a 14 dead last week, standard engine. he ran a 13 dead this week with a big shot of gas! thats faster than my saff, and it probably cost half as much!

1100 is about the right money for one.

Fantastic fun, beats the hell out of an rs turbo, i raced loads of them in each of my novas and never lost to one.
low 14s on a totally standard engine is realistic

make sure its been welded properly at the front or its a weekend wasted yanking the engine out and in to do it.

there good cheap fum and for a turbo one for that price its a steal, but id strip it and put it in a stanard one, i dont ike the sound of 16" venoms and wide arches
we build them if you need any parts anyway, we have the light blue nova saloon with 350bhp 6 speed, and andy can make you out you need
were just startin to put them in the back instead, a bit more fun lol

a couple of my mates have had them - i was shocked how quick there are!

only downside is that with such a heavy engine it understeers like a bitch!

and one of the lads is currently turboing a 2l 16v! cant wait to see what its like when done!
