cossie management
wat differenece will i see from just avin cossie mangement fitted an mapped on my 1600 rst engine. currently the engine gives 190bhp at the wheels on 16psi boost and has run a 14.2 @101.8mph. fully l/b bottom end, arp big end bolts, knife edge crank, mahle low comp pistons, cr is 7.2:1, kent cvh35 cam with ported polished head and i think the turbo is md28? its a t3 hybrid.
will i see a gd power increase and will the power feel generally better even if i made no more peak power?

For the price you will pay for a shonky second hand Cosworth management package, you can buy a brand new ECU, loom and sensors.
New ECU, or 1980's Second hand "old hat"??? Hmmmmmmmmmm I just don't know

Ask me a question!

That "old hat" you go on about is still just as good if not better than most of the kits available for the money. Most after market management systems are based on the weber one
Most tuners in the land can map weber 100% everytime! Compare!
The old parts you talk about? What are they??? Just an ECU!
New looms are made, New sensor's are used etc etc ...
E.g a NEW COSOWORTH ECU IS £1800 the only reason people use a second hand one is becuase of the money!
WEBER wins this argument everytime unless you are building a F1 engine If it's good enough for a Yb engine running 500+ bhp with Air injectors, ALS, Coilpack etc etc im sure its good enough for everyone who has made a comment on this post.

Have you had a look at the Gotech MFI-STD system??
It's a full engine management system thats new to the ford market.
We have fitted this to Performance Ford Magazine project RSTurbo, and we achieved amazing results
Compared to the old KE Jet, the car was transformed! the low and mid range power was increased considerably, and the drivability was AMAZING. The power and torque gains you can make, depend on the mods to the car, but yours sounds quite developed - you will see good gains.
The details/features have been discussed in detail on this thread, have a look:
https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=146861
Briefly, you get full fuel and ignition control over 32 load points - more than most of the competitors
It's a fully fledged Fuel and ignition ecu.
It can drive your coil or coilpacks directly from the internal igntion drivers, saving you hassle wiring a tp100 type ignition module.
32 load points fuel and ignition
up to 12,000 rpm
(phased)semi- sequential injection
Closed loop Lambda control 0-1 and 0-5 wideband
Powerfull DataLogging
Launch control
Flatshift
Water injection control
nitrous control
VVT control
Fuel pump control
Can use distributor for triggering - or multi tooth wheel 60-2 bosch / 36-1 ford / or Rotary with TDC
Can run 12 high impedence injectors - so okay with 4 cyl motor with twin injector set-up
Second (outer) Injector control - fully mappable over the 32 load and rpm points
Plus all the usual correction maps eg: air temp/batt voltage/cold start water temp/warmup fueling and so on.
Race Proven in International Touring Car Series for over 3 years with the factory Alfa Romeo 147GTA 3.2 V6
Nick from PF mag is running on his car, and has had fantastic results.
Comes complete with fully terminated, and labled loom with high quality overbraiding, and heatshrink.
£1000 fitted and Mapped on the dyno AND on the road - I think the PARTS alone for the cossie conversion are around £600/700, and you need to change pulley wheels and dizzys and so on.
With Gotech, you keep all the original parts (except injectors and fuel rail) even the sensors!!
Jamsport are the official dealers, so give them a call for more info, www.jam-sport.co.uk
