I fitted a seperate relay so when ALS was switched off it literally cut all power to the valve, to prevent the valve opening on first startup.
Im shit at electrics and i figured how and fitted in it 30mins.
Surely tho it does that due to the way its mapped or summat, and that can be de-activated?
Mine did rev, but not to 6k thats for sure, 4k at most, and i still fitted a relay to counter that.

mine doesnt do that on stage one at all, car fires up and idles sweet, switch on stage one ( active by ecu) usual mild als stuff, stage two is active only by configuration of switch ecu and relay
what you find tho is the top hat modded valve you have will give you endless grief, sometimes it will work others you'll just get low revs and a bit of popping and farting - very un-reliable really

i bet you would
its a bit like this right, i have a competition car, so reliablity on extra functions is paramount to me, so i have a very very good tuner, i go and see him with my car maybe once, maybe twice a year for a full check up of the engine managment and all ecu functions, we speak about 'this years modification' i leave the car there for a few days, i then pick it up .....................HEY PRESTO ! new functions

No, you do it on the idle speed control screw on the throttle body and your rev counter!
The idle screw is underneath the throttle body.... NOT on the throttle stop on the side of the spring loaded linkage (this will mess up your TPS settings so it MUST be done on the proper idle screw).

That's just showing off
Markk - Thanks for the help
Dave - I have a cunning plan for mine. I don't think it will work on your system though after having a lengthly chat with Mike about ALS, I don't think your ECU can support what I am going to do, but it does involve 2 idle valves.

Ok, here you go.
Spastics guide to Cosworth base idle speed adjustment.
Step 1
Leave house and locate car.
Step 2
Open bonnet.
Step 3
Locate flat bladed screwdriver.
Step 4
Start car and leave to idle (if it will).
Step 5
Locate throttle body on end of plenum (see picture).
Step 6
Locate Idle speed control screw (or idle air bypass screw as it may be called) under neath throttle body (see picture).
Step 7
Use flat bladed screwdriver to turn said screw anti clockwise 1/4 turn at a time. Check with rev counter (if accurate) and adjust again if required until the needle is pointing at desired number on the rev counter (usually 1).
