I have decided to keep my blue 3 door cossie after a few peoples "dont see many of these comments"
so I am looking to Fit another set off wheels 17 inch Mo's on the front and 18" on the back but prefer the old style are they still available and what is the best offsets as I dont want to modify the arches at all or the arch spats?
( must also be able to take the 330mm ap kit as well!!)
Many thanks
Nick

hehe, no probs
mine are et30 but im hoping with some real low profile tyres i can make them fit without having to cut anything as thats not an option. I have seen et35 18 comps on 3doors with no arch mods at all, that was with 225,35 rubber. Good luck finding a set of old style though as you cant get them new anymore.

To help minimise bumpsteer you want a highish offset on the front, much like the originals, so 35mm or so is the right ballpark to be in.
For looks, escos style 25mm offset is fantastic as it pushes the wheels further out, but you get clearnance issues on both the front and rear arches.
all depends on what is important to you personally, and if you are prepared to cut your arches around.
Going slightly further out on the rear (lower number offset) and keeping the front closer to standard is a good compomise between looks and handling.

Thanks guys!!
Did wonder if a set of RL7's would be for sale shortly???
B11GNS have you had to cut the wheel arches?
Mike: I am after the MO6's the older style? are they 5 spoke on a 17"? and 6 on an 18"? did not realise if they are!
A friend of mine has the new 8x17" and has 215x40x17's on the front and 235x40x17's on the rear but we had to make some serious mods to the arches for them to fit!!

Nick,
Yep, that is correct, the old 17" MOs are only available in 5-spoke, with the exception of the new 8x17s 6-spoke, which are currently ONLY available in this rim width
. However, I don't think they will produce any different rim widths, as the spoke design would reduce the capability of accepting big brakes if the wheels were any narrower.
So you are limited to either the 5-spoke 17s all round, second hand old style 18s, new style 18s or making the new 8x17s fit like on your mates...
