For your information, a couple of weeks ago, in the Odeon cinema,
Festival Park, a person sat on something sharp in one of the seats. When
she stood up to see what it was, a needle was found poking through the
seat with an attached note saying, "You have been infected with HIV".


The Centres for Disease Control in Birmingham, reports similar events
have taken place in several other cities recently.


ALL of the needles tested HAVE been found positive for HIV. The CDC also
reports that needles have been found in the coin return areas of pay
phones and coke machines. Everyone is asked to use extreme caution when
confronted with these types of situations. All public chairs should be
thoroughly but safely inspected prior to any use. A thorough visual
inspection is considered the bare minimum. Further more, they ask that
everyone notify their family members and friends of the potential
dangers, as well.


The previous information was sent from Hanley police station to all of
the local councils in the Staffs area and was interdepartmentally
dispersed.

We were all asked to pass this to as many people as possible."

The only thing you can get is Hep B as the HIV and especially AIDS virus' dies when it outside the warmth of the human body. I used t worry when I get covered in blood at work but now see it as part of the fun, although there is a risk there as the blood is normally warm, hence plasters on any cuts and double bagged "surgeons gloves".
My mum stood on a hypodermic needle years ago, that really shook her up though.

Kim - i remember it happening at a nightclub in Batley, people getting jabbed with something sharp and someone saying "welcome to the club"


also recently, there was a spate of needles been wrapped in newspapers and stuffed down the side of seats on trains in the manchester and rochdale area - these needles were from drug users, IE - crack and heroin, but could well be contaminated with HIV, Hepatitis or any other blood transmitted disease - when you think about it, its very scary.


But the initial post on this thread is most definately a hoax

Bang on mate - HIV needs to be at 38 degrees or so to live so in a needle it dies in minutes. Can only get Hep B from a needble which is nasty but treatble.

 

If these this was true it would be on the news. E-mail is generally not the way of transmitting information like this. Much the same as the cars with no headlights gang initiation hoax that does the rounds every so often.

Whilst these may actually happen very occasionally (and thats where the e-mail probably comes from) if there was a sudden spate of incidents such as this, you would hear it from a more reputable source.

That's also what I was going to mention, it would be on the news and cinemas would be checking for this sort of thing and would defo not be open if they found something!

Lol, reminds me of the hoaxes as a kid some 15-20 years ago when you shouldnt use toilet paper because the narcos cleaned their syringes by pushing them into the paper rolls.

 

I know this ones a hoax but a few years back i read this thing about a group of guys in greece or spain (dont remember) who were targeting young female hoildaymakers, they basically took them out a few times, shagged them and then took there details using the pretence that they were coming to england and would like to meet up, then a couple of weeks after the holiday these girls were recieving little white coffins through the post with a note inside saying 'welcome to the club', it affected me a bit at the time, its so sick!
