Default EBay help required

Hi Peeps,

I am selling an E30 M3 engine on E-Bay and I have had the following question posted:

Q: I am Mrs Mercy Joe the managing director of shelm manufacturing company and we have our company in five different countries : USA, United Kingdom, Africa, Germany and Japan. Our main office is at maryland in USA. We have just been building a new company in CANADA, so we need this particular item there and we will be paying you thru a certified chq. Mail me back with the price of the item and dont worry about the shipping to canada, our shipping company will be responsible for the shippment of the item to our new building company in CANADA. i await to hear from you the price of the item with ur full name and address so that i can issue the chq to u. immediately. Mercy Joe

Now I don't have much ebay selling experiance, so should I trust this guy or what. Smells fishy to me, what do you lot think???

Cheers,

Sean..

Sounds a little similar to the African style scam - there's a fair chance that cheque will be dodgy in some way.

I'd only sell it to them if you could guarantee cleared funds, so only take a transfer.

I have sent a reply, simply stating that I do not accept cheques and payment should be made via PayPal only.

Scam.

You could always offer to deliver free, cash on delivery, to their UK branch.

They don't have a website (least not easy to find) so that too says dodgy.

Deffo a scam, and Paypal will take a percentage of the payment too m8, cheque would be better IMO< unless you've stated to add 4% to cover paypal fees

God no! ... it`s the least secure method of moving money I know off, I know people who have lost thousands of pounds to them. Have a look at http://www.paypalsucks.com/ and you'll see what I mean
