M8, got back from travelling Oz a few months ago and you can now get a 2 year temporary working Visa [no more than 3 months in one job, but thats easily got round].

I'd try that if I were you cos then when you're out there you can get a sponsor [theres companies all over the place that'll sort it out for you] then you'll get residency.

I know you're supposed to be skilled, but I could have got residency and my only skill is being able to tell which porn star it is by looking at a photo of their lady bits.

I have looked into it m8, was looking at trying to get residency when I was over as I got loads of family on the East coast. The example I gave before was if you are actually out there already.

There's 3 main ways to do it mate:

1. Get sponsored over there then apply for residency whilst you're there, the company has to prove that it is un-economic for them to get anyone else to do the job [they have to advertise it to Australian nationals etc.]

2. You can apply for rwsidency from the UK by satisfying a points system which covers things like what proffession you are [teachers a good one as I met a guy in Perth that got in on being a primary school teacher], whether you're young, single, educated etc.

3. Invest a certain ammount of money into a business, last time I knew, you could get residency on having a business with a turnover of about Ł70k, but you have to employ at least 2 nationals, you also have to have some assets but not sure how much.

we'll have to have a passionford meet in Aus because at this rate there'll be more of us over there than here!!

Cool, stayed in a hostel in manly for a bit. It's a nice beach, they got that whole filter system to put all the rainwater back in the sea... I had a proper English moment on the p!ss in Manly, you know you got that pedstrian bit by the food court? Went for beers at the snooker hall up by the ferry bit, then got a kebab and sat down by one of the sculpture things and threw my guts up over the back of this disgusted Kiwi bird. Wouldn't of minded but I had the p!ss horn on and thought I was game on with her.

Moved out and stayed at Indys in Bondi the day after....

The boat shed was cool! Tiny little place that you go downstairs to? Got a pool table there too... thats all they bloody do over there!

I must admit, I hit Manly off peak so it wasn't too lively. Bondi was brilliant though. Oh fook I wanna go back now.... you lucky get....

Manly is pretty cool... if you're a tourist!

I've just came back from a trip in country Victoria/New South Wales and I would love to move out there if I had a good job offer. I went to a couple of pubs/nightclubs in Euchea, Victoria (about 220km away from Melbourne) and I SWEAR the ratio is 2-3 women to men!!! Some good lookers as well!!

If you come to Sydney I'd be more than happy to show you round.

Yeah, they really DO drive utes in the country haha! Some are pretty cool though, but not for me!

You'd be surprised how many of the country gals actually know about cars... more impressed about a ute than a Cossie and the fact that the're so much more open than city women.. but that's another story!!!

You'd also be surprised how civilised some of the country towns are such as Echuca. They have major shops, McDonalds, hotel and most of all pubs!!

no ones died from a spider bite in about 65 years over there cat

but the funnel web can kill you yes ,but then usually in places like under house's and so on,very unlikey to see one.and if you do run,cos they come after you
red backs you have to watch with the kids, cos it can make them quite ill

its doen't matter about family out there rudey,it just means you get a few ever points and go in on a different type visa
the points sytem has jump 5 points from 115 to 120 as from april just gone
that meant i was 5 points short ( old fooker )
but going in on a sponsered/assured trade visa i know have 130 points,so in theory can still go out there till i was 45

as paddy said, and me.there is all different types of visa's.but like the one where he said you have to put money into the country ( think its about 250k ozzie dollors)plus you have to have a buisness out there which is earning 70k a year and buy property out there as where
even with that type of visa it is NOT a resident visa until about a year later when you have proved what they want you to do

You can also extend a working/holiday visa by flying to New Zealand, Papua New Guinea etc. and coming back into the country. Works every time

Yep Manly is very cool - I go there every year

You guys should also try the 'Posh Bar' at the Rocks by the ferry wharf - excellent place and stacked full of totty
