On the CVH, whats the diff between KA, LA etc

I think karl has the details on the exact differences.

KA is the RS Turbo one I think. Theres KA, LA and AA

you trying to get out of using a adjustable pulley?

What you talking about?

I just told ya that the pulleys are from different cars, for this reason the cam needs different pulleys to set the amount of time valves will be open closed etc... If you put the pulleys on top of each other the amount of teeth/spacing will change between them.

E.g 1.4cvh / 1.6cvh etc... are different

If you want the timming figures for the pulleys ill get them for you.

LOL - no shit they're diff.....

I know KA is the RST one, ive got an LA as well. Im running her in on a new std cam, Karl will be making me a cam when i fit the big turbo - i'll get a vernier then.

Wanted to know the exact differences as it's hard to tell visually.

will be the cam timing as the head and cams are the same as a xr3i i would have thought



but im not a top tuner or a pirate of other peoples hard work so i dont know for sure

cheack and see if the main difference is a oddkid etching on one of em

if i can remember rightly each tooth was about 4 degrees crankshaft timing.

so its understandable that its hard to spot a degree or two difference in them.
can you not get it accurate enough with a rule, mark the quadrants and see where the most vertical tooth is in relation to the keyway?

EDIT - that is just incase jano doesnt come back with the detail differences.

Counting from a crappy picture the pulley has 38 teeth. This would make the crank pulley have 19 teeth. This would make each cam pulley tooth result is 19 degrees of crank timing! Comparing a KA (rst) and a AA (1.6 efi) cam pulley, they are already nearly half a tooth apart in timing. This is MUCH. If someone has the exact figures, I 'd like to see them.
