Default Anyone here actually done one of these (ebay listing)

Has anyone actually bought one of these listings?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/42-Panasonic-P...QQcmdZViewItem

Do you actually get anything and what you do get - does it actually work?

I wanna try, but don't wanna get ripped off. I mean it's not the money - fiver is nothing, but it's the point of it : lining someone elses pockets and getting nothing for it...

I knew what you were on about before i clicked the link!

Have allways thought the same as you and still do, but then i think if i could really buy plasma tvs, playstations etc for about £50 i wouldn't tell anyone then buy as many as poss and sell them on ebay for £££s rather than £4.89

Thats what I wanna do

Plus I want one for me but ain't paying a grand upwards for one.......

Thing is how could you be able to get away with doing it, if the listing is a scam, and not get reported, or get bad feedback?

Absolutely HAS to be a scam.

no way you are genuinely going to get that telly for 59 + a fiver.

(especially on ebay) if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

Drop the seller a message telling him you will give him 200 quid for the telly if he gets one for you, surely if its genuine then he will jump at the chance to earn 140 quid so easily?

Probably takes you to a page that says:

For sale 42" telly - 59 quid - currently in stock: 0

or

42" tell only 59 quid + 5 grand postage

Or something equally fucking stupid.

LOL and then i start to think exactly what you think, as in feedback etc and how they get away with it, but it does say in ebay rules no pyramid selling things, but theres hundreds on ebay all the time.

Thinks its down to ebay getting 15pence from each item listed that they couldnt really give a shit

Read his feedback, of the postiive ones the most common reply is something like this:

not what I was expecting - very misleading! - but overall ok I guess

Have worked it out, its a pyramid scheme!

Once you have 100 people signed up wiating for their telly at 59 quid you get yours, it will be something like that, cause look at this bit of feedback about the SAME auction:

quick delivery of e.mail.dont think i will be joining the scheme though

I bet he has shitloads of "removed by mutal agreement" neg feedback as well!

Thats the problem with Ebay, i had it recently.

I bought an item (off a fellow passionforder as it happens)
It never arrived.

They claimed to have emailed me about it but i never received an email.

I left them negative feedback cause i never got my item.

They left me negative for leaving them negative, even though i was the perfect buyer and paid instantly etc.

Shit fucking system if you ask me when sellers can give a negative to a buyer who paid just in revenge.

As said pyramid schemes all round, don't waste your time.

The theory is they have 100 people (for example, in practice they probably have a lot more!) in the waiting list who have all paid £50 = £5000 in their pot. They cannot lose as the person at number 1 in the list only gets the telly when person number 101 joins the pyramid and pays their £50. This way when people stop joining there will be 100 people who are £50 down.

There used to be adverts similar to this, all the seller is doing is selling you a booklet listing all the " unadvertised" government auctions, Customs and excise seizures, proceeds of crime etc.
You have to attend the auctions and bid, you MAY get new goods at bargain prices.
