Hi all, I think I've been a silly boy and I'm really worried. Maybe some of the ladies on here could advise me.Yesterday at work I went through the computer thing we've got that has photos of everyone and found out that I can even get photos of girls that work in the accounts and personelle depts etc, I found some pictures of some babes I didn't know worked there, so I , for a laugh, sent an email to my mate saying something like

" Checkout the honeys on the Computer, foxy ladies, We must start a fox hunt for these babes!"

or something like that, I also sent a copy to the girls thinking it would be a compliment and a bit of harmless flirting. But now my mate has really scared me by saying it could be seen a sexual harrassment, a sackable offence! It was only ment as a bit of harmless fun, but what if one of em takes offence and reports it.There was no sexual innuendos in it, nor was there any nastyness, just a bit of banter and a harmless compliment.

For the ladies on here, would you be offended to know Firemen were "perving" over your photo?, is it offensive what I sent? Is it harrasment? I'm really really worried, it's the only thing on my mind and I've got in a bit of a state over it.
Should I send another email apologising saying it was ment as harmless fun?

can see where you are coming from, especially in todays society of political correctness. I personally wouldnt see that as out of order, but as you say, there are some that might. So i would send that 2nd email just to say that in hindsight you shouldnt have sent it and apologise for any offence you may have caused... minimise any damage you MAY have done. Although, i doubt anything will come of it, you can never be too careful in this day and age.

Andy personaly I cant see why anyone would be offended nor can I see any grounds for them to complain about being harassed.

Sounds like your M8 is at the wind up! Mailing again may draw more attention to what was initialy said.

the thing is, my brigade send us all on a course learning "Fairness and Dignity in the workplace" and all it takes is 1 person to say "That offended me" and that's it.

I would see it as a bit of fun and be flattered BUT theres more girls than you think that would take offence to receiving something like that......dont think it can be classed as harrasment though as it was ONE email and has made no remark directly about them....sure it will be fine hunni....they'll prob just have a laugh about it xx

i can't see any relatively sane woman getting upset by being reffered to as attractive or 'foxy'. it's only if there's some munters who you left out find out and get the hump and complain.

seriously though, i would keep it quiet and hope that nothing happens. i would say that it's highly unlikely to have caused any offence.

hope you can relax about it soon, learn a lesson, and it all blows over.

If any women find anything that was sent to anyone and everyone offensive then they need to loosen up a little. If it was sent only to the women their fair comment, but seeing as everyone got it..............so what ? Just hope none of your male colleagues think you fancy them............. Andy m8, a female 2nd officer on one of the ships I was on accused me of sexual harrassment. It was a serious matter at first, but common sense prevailed and I was cleared of any wrong doing.

Turns out she was some kind of nutter and accused everyone including the Captin of harrassment. In the end she 'resigned' after dropping a lifeboat when she was thinking one morning


Sexual harrassment is one of the many laws brought in for a good reason thats been abused by people looking for easy money

its not direct as such and not pestering so could be changed to a warning as such, if ya did actually personally carry on ect then that would be worse but the first one is hard to prove, ypu may not remember but i got accused of it at work, of all people by a orange short arse girl who i would NEVER even wipe me nob on if i got shit stuck to it

but it was all bollocks as she never mentioned it was offensive,,,,,, oh and i never actually done anything except call the ugly dog babe in a conversation

infact it was only brought up as a way to get rid of me and they refused to mention the person who complained so they had NO case
