1.9 beam mod will give you instant disc brakes on the back and its a simple swap.

Rose jointed front 'bones will help get the camber sorted for better/quicker cornering.

Solid rear beam mounts on the back will rattle your teeth out but keep it planted on the bumpy roads.

Rose jointed gear linkages are a positive must have accessory if you are going to hammer it

And a christmas tree shaped yellow air freshener is needed if your a tart

Dave engine wise the Citroën BX 16V is the same as that fitted to the Pug Mi16 may help you whilst trawling scrappies & save you a bob or 2

1.9 205gti axel is the 1 to have as the 309 is longer = more lift off oversteer.

1600 box is good

From what I recall the 1600 has different front hubs from the 1900 so its likely your going to need a set of hubs/shafts for the 1900 16v conversion.

Toff's your man for 16v conversions, give him a pm

I had a 205 with GTI-6 engine and gearbox - done by Pug-One-Off. It was an absolute hoot, but had flip paint and wide arches etc and would have preferred it standard looking. Couldn't get full lock on right hand down because it was blanked off to avoid hitting the 6-speed box so annoying in multi-storys. Beat a DB7 at Brands Hatch though.Ecosse have a standard looking 205 GTI with a t-16 in it. Ran a 13.66 1/4 mile at Bruntingthorpe yesterday.

As Tony says, Rose jointed gear linkage is a defininte.

I don't even think you NEED MI16 power - my old 1.9 was the most fun car I've ever had.

Oh, had a standard 1.6 205 too after owning a MK2 XR2. The difference was incredible... and I never had to rebuild the engine in the Pug!

Why is everyone giving Dave all this advice about making it go, stop and corner better???????

He's never going to drive the damn thing

It's just gonna be another one to park next to his 'ornamental' S1 RST

matt from ecosse's red 205 is bog standard apart form a 317 bhp T16!

everything has been replaced or rebuild and the car is like new....

engine conversion is so neat it looks like its meant to be there!

i have sen this car goon the road and its easily the quickest i have seen....

if he spent money on suspension set up and a few other areas it would be a total weapon.

oh and by the way its up for sale!

Have owned one of the rare Turbo Technics 1.9 GTI's. Turbocharged from new.
Two Stage boost it had a claimed 0-60 6.2 according to the literature. A cracking little car with go-cart handling.

Phil, Couldnt believe it myself when my mate said his old 205 (which he hardly drove) was looking for a new home for free All he done to it was stick a new fan/rad/fan switch and mot it around 7month ago when he had it All i know it needs now are 2 drop links (were an advisory) and a new lock set as the now owner has somehow missplaced the key as he parked the car up a while ago and hasnt used it either, all he has done to it is smooth the boot over (needs painted and i think it has 2 of the badges at the side missing! )

There's a 1.9 in a scrappy near me, leather, but pass seat missing ) so i'll get the lock set off of that and maybe the rear axle depending on how much!
