make sure the gasket is perfect on all faces, and that all mating surfaces are clean.

tightening the bolts - hand tight and then off the top of my head, they are 10 nm on a torque wrench

dont forget half moon seals IMO a nice little sealent around the front at least helps NO end, just do the bolts up "tight" (I used a 1/4 drive rachet)

my prefered method of tightening is using a Tbar allen driver (5mm allen key it is) and doing them all tight with that - no chance of stripping the threads then

just had to do this myself, tis fairly easy, i used a small allen driver t-bar like above. i just nipped them up and then went round in a sort of seqeunce ( doing opposites ) . that was using a cometic gasket though, which is re-useable and seems much better than the ford jobbie

so you cant over tighten them and crush the gasket then? i will get those half moon seals aswell .at the moment when you give it some oil drips onto manifold and gives typical smell inside the cabin
