To clean oil off what?

Hand's fairy liquid with salt seems to work a treat (have a mate who swears by Ajax though ).

Driveway, chuck a couple of bottles of Coke over it and then leave for a while and hose down.

I know Ginge it was a "dry" comment, though most local garages have one and they would prob do it for you if you were a good cust, but if he was going to go to that length be just aswell to get it acid dipped at the local machine shop and repaint it

for a min then i thought ya was gonna sugest he uses you spare engine block cleaner and then offer to let him use the powder coating room ya built at the end of ya garden next door to your tyre fitting bay/rolling road

can i tell i hate when people have more tools than me

Friend of mine used a steam cleaner on his block and managed to get it clean. Would rather the elbow grease route myself, do a proper job.

Hey I did mine in the car.

Wouldn't again I admit but I left the engine running and was careful where I squirted it. Well as careful as you can be with 1500psi of steam.

Apparently if the engine is the car then a degreasant like Jizer or Gunk and a brush you use to paint behind radiators in houses is a good way.

At this rate it would be easier to take the engine out and paint over the block with some nice red paint
