I saw these posted on another site and people said they were of a tornado not a hurricane, so just random pictures and not of Katrina.

No idea if it is true or not though...

Wow, awesome pics.

I still cant get my head round the concept of building a city below sea level though, the yanks really lined themselves up for that fall.

Terrible blow that mother nature dealt them but such an "advanced" country could have worked out it would happen sooner or later surely?

cant help but feel the government should have made it clear to people the risk they took by living there.

Technically it was the French not realising that the soil they were about to build on had only just been deposited by the Mississippi and would spend the next few hundred years sinking
