Not a chance that the ride survived that - just look at the state of the crash helmet. This is whey they used it, to slow the bikers down, as the Ring is a harsh place for flesh and blood . You have to have a screw loose to go round there on two wheels, as one mistake and you're potentially dead. In a car, it is just likely to be financially devastating....

Guy i work with goes reguarly on a bike, a friend of his was a very experienced rider, quick but in a very controlled manner, never frantic or risky.
He came round a corner at the ring and hit some oil on the track from an accident that had just happened and had a very nasty accident that left him paralysed.
Fuck that shit, its not you the bike or the ring thats the problem, its spillages etc, and with such high speeds and so little run off and so many blind corners its pretty much a case of when not if you die at the ring if you ride there reguarly enough IMHO

I saw the helmet and in the back of my mind I thought there was no way he survived that but I didn't want to believe it. Both my brother and dad are keen bikers and have been for years. My bro has lost several good friends in bike accidents and it sends a shiver down my spine when I see pics like that.

It was a fatality, there are quite a few bikers that die every year there.
Anyone going there thinking they can give it large on a bike with the same odds of walking away on a uk trackday is kidding themselves.
I will do it on a bike though at some point i expect, but i will do so knowing the risks.

10K+ Poster!!
I came round a coner seconds after a bike had stacked it into the back of an m3... he thought he could outbrake the car
After they closed the ring... ambulance,... and the biker won't ride again I wouldn't think... no legs

how long does it take to drive there?
4 to 5 hours to get to folkstone from huddersfield and then about 4 to 5 hours from calais to the hotel in heisbrosch (slap bang in the middle of the ring)
the drive didn't seem like 5 hours tho - was fantastic and much much silly speeds were consumed
