I've never had so much fun with my clothes on, especially when Martin did a full bore launch across five lanes of motorway from the hard shoulder, AND did a top speed run I have it on video
The journey back was one of the worst experiences of my life, as Neil and I had been HARDCORE drinking the night before, and I've never been so close to throwing up and not managing it in my life -the whole journey back was horrendous, apart from the porn.

I got in the car at the Ring, fell into a deeeeeep sleep and got out at Rentons mums house which is 10 mins from mine. I woke up and Renton just said 'cheers for helping share the driving MATE' and walked into his mums house.
I then drove the Sierra the 10min home.
Sweeeet
Actually I just remembered I did wake up briefly going back through Brussels I thinkl??? as the Sierras STACK shift lights were burning holes in my eyes... we were doing 160mph+ in the PISSING rain and Martin went past at HUGE speed the fooking lunatic.

Im thinking of buying an E36 325 for the next trip (not easy for me to insure some of my cars abroard at the moment as my existing insurance wont cover it and finding insurnace on half a dozen heavily modified cars in one policy isnt easy)
If you like you are welcome to go for a part share in that, and share the driving/petrol etc as i may be doing that with at least one other person anyway.
At the end of the trip if its in one piece we sell it, if someone stuffs it up they pay the others back their share, something like that.

I might possibly do that even if the nova is ready as i could tow the nova over, we did belgium and back in a day in it once (from somerset) and although its bearable for long journeys there is NO luggage room at all, couldnt even fit one suitcase so its hardly practical for a long weekend away.
Will talk to you about it nearer the time mate

Now you're talking Chip - I've always said that the way to do it is to tow a track car there, that way if it gets broken, it's no real mither getting it back. The only chew i guess is tunnel / ferry - how does that work out with a trailer?

I will deffo be there and have allready started the fooking silly modifying lark that i swore i would NEVER get drawn back into
A standard brake setup on the sapphire is garbage round the ring and lasted less than 1 lap and had me doing the other 20 using the gearbox as a brake

you jnust book the ferry or tunnel and book your hotel and we meet at the track, or convoy over if you are the same time as other people.
dont expect mike or anyone else to book the hotel up for everyone else or anything though.
although jampsport dan was chatting about possibly booking a whole hotel, so might be worth asking him if he still is.

Stu, looking forward to seeing you in some proper machinery next time mate, you were pretty quick anyway with what you had once you had done a few laps.
Im definately reserving a passenger ride now, so everyone else can join the queue behind me.

The Ring is not thought of as brake devastating track. So probably you engine is just too quick for the brakes

I can't wait to torture my DS2500's there But after some experiments lately I suspect they can last that. Of course it's a matter of not braking too much.
Even in top level WRC there is such a difference between driving styles. Marcus Gronholm on tarmac rallies always has brake problems (and often on gravel) and e.g. Loeb or MArtin almost never overheat they brakes.

Depends on the car and the driver and conditions. In WRC Loeb and some other drivers do not so much of LFB (of course they brake only with left foot but that's not what I mean). But some cars and surfaces need lots of LFB. I do LFB al the time on FWD cars but I don't feel I can make full use of it in AWD yet. In Cossie I LFB a little bit (especially to switch from one sideways corner to oanother it's efficent technique) but in Impreza rarely.

Well - LFB can be used to do MANY things. Depands on the car and surface over which you're traveling. I really love the feeling of ocontrol in very fast bends when car starts to understeer a little and you just slightly touch the brakes to kill it not moving your legs and destabilizing your car with abrupt lift-off and stomping on the brakes. But generally in 90% situations my instructors always told me to LFB only off-throttle in AWD car.

Well you can all fuck off, I don't want you there, you'll clog up the car-park, track, restuarants and hotels . Obviously that was for the serious people only, as 90% on here are "g'onnas" anyway .
