Make the difference though - if I happen to be alongside a car and we end up having a little fun together, that's one thing.
Going to a location with the express intention of racing another individual is another and far worse.
Have you seen the type of people that go to these "races"? Could they give a fuck if you crashed your car? No, they'd be sat at the side of the road cheering!

No it's not - it's entirely different.
Coming back from Bedford last week, I had a play with a TVR down the dual carraigeway, then he went one way, I went the other, and that was it. Both of us mature and sensible, and knowing when the speed was more appropriate than at other times.
Most of these little road racer twats are all just stood around talking about "who they dusted round the ring road, man" - approximately 50 brain cells between them, and about as much driving skill or prowess as a lampost, and about as likely to hit one.
Still, well done for admitting that you are part of that category

Ive never been up, but few people i know always go up. The road aint even that good to race on, quite dangerous to be fair. I just imagine a 'Grease' style race with a bird using a hanky as a starter.
'we're racing for pinks, you punk, ownership papers!!!!!'

As for threatening me, grow up . Wait, I'm really scared
Meanwhile, you just continue making yourself look like the EXACT reason why the police shut down these gatherings.
Westy - no, not at all. Just mature enough not to break the law and then whinge about it when you get caught.

Thought it was just a local J27/28 thing, never been cause things like this automatically bring to mind idiots in Halfords specials*
*Attach loads of glue to front of car, crash through nearest Halfords window.

Might take a pop up in the Ashtray when its done.
to pon cause i dont care if you class me in with these idiots, I've never been to "organised" street racing or taken part but I've done my share of traffic light grand prix's and country lane races, whats the difference??? alright so there might be a few more people about with slight risk of injury, but no more than the tear up's your on about. Bit of pot, kettle, black syndrome here i reckon, its ok for you to race where/when ever you like but if like minded people get together to do it there all dick heads WTF

Organised street racing is inherently more dangerous, as it's a determined effort to break the law and more often that not involves some very dangerous driving. Nothing I did v the TVR could remotely be classed as dangerous, as it lasted all of a few seconds.
Plus, anyone who "races" mates round a ringroad is obviously the most skillful driver in the world........................ innit
