Default Probably broke something.. again

Hi all,

Do you know the feeling that everything you planned just keeps going wrong? Something like a rebuild...

Does anyone know if the rubber in the part in the pics below is simply replacable. I was trying to remove it, to get the part cleaned and a new rubber in, but it doesn't seem to get out and now I destroyed the rubber.

Please tell me there's no problem

Yup, thats replaceable

It's easier to do it with the cover off too!

Be careful not to damage the new seal when you fit it though...

Neil.

Great mates, thanks for the quick reactions.
Any tips on how to remove the old rubber? I've only managed to remove parts of the "backside". Probably pretty stuck after 16 years

Thanks. Been trying it just 2 minutes ago, the rubber must love the metal..
I get some pieces of rubber, but the rubbers lies in the middle of the metal ring... I'll keep trying to get it out piece by piece.. if you have any hints, their welcome

Whoopie, just got it out

There's a little bit of wear from the screwdriver, IMO it looks like no big problem (one little mark at the flatside/downside, and a really small line at the top of the round fitting).

Any good?

no problem, smooth off any sharp burrs, a smear of grease round the outside of the new seal will see it press in easily - just press it into the housing evenly so it sits square.
